A bit of a mixed feeling with these. The actual Andis cutters are amazing and you know you've got a winner and spent around £100. There's no doubt they look and feel the part: they have excellent build quality and they're made to last and cut quietly and quickly. The thing is, the blades for them are awkwardly expensive as it is, without the need to buy the 'ceramic' model over the 'ultra edge' to avoid a problem they shouldn't be having in the first place: rusting. I suppose what i'm trying to say is, yes the ceramic blades are great, but at £30+ for a blade...it's a begrudged purchase. The ultraedge is nearer the £20 mark, but they rust horribly...and they really shouldn't. Kind of feel forced into buying the ceramic model. I would recommend the ceramic model...but only if the price comes down a bit.

Wow! Excellent blade.
Wow! I have been clipping my 2 dogs for around 5 years & this is the first ceramic blade I've bought. Wish I had been using ceramic since day 1. This blade makes the job sooo much easier. It's like a hot knife through butter - the fur glides off so easily. Both dogs coats look excellently cut & the blade doesn't get warm like the usual metal blades, so the whole experience is much better. I will be buyng more ceramic blades from now on.

I bought this blade for my dog's clipper and I'm very satisfied. The material feels sturdy and of good quality. It cuts hair evenly without pulling, even in more delicate areas like paws and ears. My dog felt much calmer during the process because it doesn't jam or overheat too quickly.

This blade is expensive but worth it. We purchased it to use with the " Andis Excel 5-Speed Pet Grooming Clipper with size 10 CeramicEdge Blade, Silver Sparkle ". We also purchased a set of clipper combs but those were not even used. (It really depends on how short you want to go - but using the 7FC alone they certainly did not look 'shaved'.) We replaced the standard 10 blade that came on the clippers, and used only this blade with nothing else. Four dogs later (including a Lab Mix, a Yorkie and and Shih Tzu) they all looked, I have to say, amazing. Over the years they've been to different groomers (even some that were very expensive) and they all looked better than they ever had. We could not believe how easy it was! It does take time - maybe 30 to 45 minutes - but you know your dog better than anyone. We just kept talking with them and they were absolutely fine -- perhaps more comfortable because they know you best. We are also glad that we got the more expensive 5-speed clippers. Someone indicated that sometimes a lower speed is best and we found that to be the case. Sometimes the blade did get a little warm (hard to avoid), and after a 30 second pause it was fine to proceed. Using someone else's recommendation, we just set the blade on a gel ice pack and it cooled right down. Definitely oil the blades between cuts. By the way, in the photo you can see two screws. You do not need to remove these to install or replace the blades. You simply pull the top of the blade towards you to release it, and then slide it up and off. The screws hold the blade to its mount. We groomed with the hair and fur -- not against the 'grain'. We were able to groom legs, tummies, and other sensitive areas as well. Someone said that they can't believe they've been paying to do this all along, and we'd certainly echo that sentiment. Andis has come up with some excellent products. Very highly recommended.
