Takes Some of the Hard Work out of Gardening
Firstly, let me say that this is a brilliant tool for taking the backache out of tilling beds that have already been worked. It makes easy work of chugging weeds under. It will break up new, compacted areas, but it's not quite so easy for this.I have a brand new allotment which has settled after about 18 months so it's quite tough going. This little tool works well and has enabled me to clear about a quarter of the patch this afternoon. I have ordered a second battery, but that's more for peace of mind than necessity.The one tip I would offer, if you're working away from home and your toolbox, is to have a small hammer and chunky screwdriver or small cold chisel to hand. Stones have a habit of jamming the mechanism and the first you know about it is a high pitched yelp of protest from the sharp end of the tiller. Working these stones out can be difficult, but a sharp tap on the screwdriver loosens the offending rock in a trice!
