Synopsis Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer display their own inimitable brand of anarchic and surreal comedy in a DVD set containing both series of The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer. Having switched from Channel 4 to the BBC in 1993, the duo introduced a host of new characters for their loyal fan base. These included the spoof folk duo Mulligan and OHare, the bra-wearing men, and their own take on the glam-rock group Slade. The series mixed studio-set comedy silliness with pre-recorded sketches, the latter of which frequently involved parodies of other television programmes. The second series of the show returned in 1995 and continued to display Reeves and Mortimers offbeat and bizarre sense of humour.

The Stench of good Humour
These two comics are barmy . I've always loved them for their abstract humour The great thing is .....my ex wife just never got it . She was bemused by their radical senses . She thought herself ' above that kind of vulgarity because she had a degree " ....so I sacked her and booted her out of my life .I continue to celebrate Reeves and Mortimer because their brand never gets tired . I've only seen about a third of this dvd because I soiled myself after getting drunk and having a big curry while watching !

Reeves and Mortimer are a very 'marmite' act - You either love or hate their very unique brand of surrealist humour.' The Smell of...' is Reeves and Mortimer at possibly their most accessible. The surrealism is toned down significantly, and the sketches are more akin to the comedy most people will expect.As a starting point, this is a very good place. My wife HATES their other shows, but will chuckle away to this quite happily

Dunt really matter
My Rose had left me, and I was in a mood so I thought I’m either gonna sit on the dock of the bay watching ships coming in and going out again, or buy this dvd. I’m fairly happy with my choice.

Love Reeves and Mortimer
Love Reeves and Mortimer. Picture shows this as PG. it's not. So can't watch with little one. Shame. He loves farts.

Truly original comedy.
God, these guys are mad. I cried laughing. You will see many of the people that go on to form the Fast Show cast, and a few that go on to have their own shows as extras.

Old school
These guys are as funny has I remember although it is clear they must of been on some form of illegal substance . Irony is possibly the funniest form of humour and these guys gave that in an abundance . One word to overview mental !!
