I bought this kit mainly for the breadboard, but I liked that it provided several components as well. Unfortunately the components aren't widely used one. It would have been better of they provided more capacitor and resistor values. I had to order separate capacitor/resistor kits to complete my projects. Also, the green and yellow LEDs are different volts/amps than the red, blue and white ones. The power board is a nice addition if you don't have an Arduino or battery connector on hand. Lose 2 stars for limited supply of component values.

This kit lacks the plethora of sensors that come with the more expensive kits, it's really all about getting a nice selection of the ubiquitous components that you'll need in any Arduino or general electronics project. I particularly liked the assortment of 1% resistors and the power supply board. This box is the first place I look when I need a random part for a new project.Since it doesn't include a million sensors, this won't get you started on a million projects, but it's the most well rounded kit I could find for its price. If you're just getting started and you want to keep your investment to a minimum till you know you're really interested, this is the kit you want.Then, when you know what you really want to do, you can come back to Amazon and buy the stuff you actually need like temp/humidity sensors, LCD displays, and other things that are actually relevant to your project.

This is not a COMPLETE kit, but it is very good. I especially like all the connector wires - a very good selection of both male-male and male-female in lots of colors. All the resistors were 1% tolerance, which is better quality than most kits. There's a lot of components in this kit that are very useful. My only complaint is the sticky residue left on the legs on all the components that are on connected strips - but that's not any fault of the seller. I think the manufacturers need to figure out a way to hold little pieces together without the sticky tape residue! That is no reason not to buy this kit. This seller has a high quality product I like very much!

Most of the pieces in this kit are commonly used basic components in the majority of Arduino projects or board prototyping. These coupled with different sensors comprise most of the projects I do with students in my computer science class. While the Arduinos, sensors, and boards can be used repeatedly; a lot of these basic components don’t last and need to be replaced. As a stand alone kit you can’t do much with it. As a supplement to another kit or to the Arduino components you already have it is great.

Nice kit for restocking your electrical components. Comes with capacitors, small potentiometers, and some transistors that generally are not included in these kits.

Components are many and plentiful. However, the breadboard power supply will not function. -1 star for that.

I use it to design simple circuits to test and “tweak” for optimal performance.

This is an excellent starter kit. I can see the uses starting at just learning how the various components work, how they work together, up to prototyping a full circuit. I've not used it with Arduino, but I'm sure it will work great.
