Worth purchasing if you want to mix colours to achieve a different shade.

I don't usually write reviews but thought this deserved some comments. After a serious allergic reaction to main stream hair dye some years ago I have tried several herbal alternatives such as very messy henna powders that often leave greys an orange colour and herbal creams, one of which washed out and faded very quickly and left my greys a purple. I thought I would try this although permanent colours are a little more risky to those who are sensitive. There is no odour and I had absolutely no adverse reaction. I love the way It has covered all my greys and provides a natural even colour. I would recommend getting a lighter colour than the shade you initially choose as deeper colours seem to come out darker than expected. I have ordered two more colours but this time in the lighter shades. Very happy with this find.

I'm fairly sure I'll never use the 'other' type of hair dye again after using Herbatint. The smell / fumes are negligble, it's sooo much easier to rinse out than the heavy-chemical products, and if you colour your hair regularly it works out a fair bit cheaper to use. Oh and also if you splash it your sink / bath etc it cleans away easily. I have very long hair but tend to concentrate on the roots when dying it, I can comfortably get 3 applications out of one pack of Herbatint. It loses one star off a potential 5 stars just because the grey coverage aint' that great. I'm using a colour just lighter than my natural colour as I'm just wanting to blend away greys and the remnants of all the nasty hair colours I've used before without making my hair any darker, and it does a good enough job of disguising & blending my roots in...but after 3-4 weeks the greys are getting noticeable again. Overall it's not perfect but I'm pleased with it and have become a regular user.

All my friends and family just think I'm lucky not to be greyer than I amUsed once every 2 to 3 weeks, which tends to wash a little out maybe and then add a little back, but no massive overnight change which is what I wantedOn my third bottle now over as many yearsI use a fifty pence coin worth in the shower and thoroughly wash into hair and scalp, then shower the rest of me trying not to wash off head, then shower soap off walls and door before washing off my hair, so applied max 10 to 12 minutes.This works perfectly for what I wantI tend to wash my hair twice a week with shampoo, otherwise I don't shower using shampoo on my headSo I manage my grey rather than 'die' my hairIf I leave it for more than 3 weeks I tend to notice a little grey creeping in so I think max non use for me is 3 weeksI always use it the first shower after having my hair cut and at 62 I still have a full head of hair

PROS:Perhaps the weakest/least offensive smell I have ever come across on hair dyes;It has a minimal smell of "chlorine" alike because of the developer but it is so so so minimal. This is the first time I have not felt any smell in my bathroom as a consequence of hair dyes. I always felt intoxicated and not even opening the windows made any difference, so quite happy about the experience in this aspect.It did colour the roots evenly (virgin hair)it coloured my coloured hair (both highlights/bleached and 'colouring kits' died)It covered partially my greys and in its defence, I have perhaps rebellious greys, not sure I just started to turn grey ( having tried even "age defy" hair colouring just to get rid of my 1% greys in both temples found this one was the only product that made a/some difference).CONSGreys: It definitely did not cover my greys 100%(but i did not attempt to keep it any longer as per the indications)Value for money: My hair is mid length and the bottle was only enough for the roots.The gloves broke just putting them on, so make sure you buy decent gloves to make the most of the product.Ash/Brassy? Not ash, yes somehow a bit brassy in the sun but again in its defence....much less brassy than many, many other hair colouring kits I have bought in the past which contained harsh chemicals.Some factors and adviseEveryone's hair is different, I brushed my hair very well before starting. The consistency is gel alike so it is not quite easy to run the product through. Make sure you have clips and separate hair strands gradually to get an even colouring.If you can get help is always better.Will I buy it again?because it did give some colour to my hair without the chemicals, I will indeed give it another go. This time will make sure I but 2 kits. I will also put more emphasis/start with the temples side ( where I mentioned I have my greys) and then the rest.will get my own gloves to ensure I am comfortable doing this. will also try to use another colour or combine colours; since will be buying two will try mixing it with platinum as others have done or darker as btw did not make my hair any darker ( which I thought it would as others had commented).all in all , worth a second try.

Was a little edgy about this but thought I’d give it a shot, And thank goodness I did. It’s a fantastic hair dye, No horrible smell what so ever. I did not have to leave it for long at all and after 15 minutes with a fantastic result. But next time going to get a slightly lighter colour.

I've been dyeing my hair myself for many years. I bought the colour 7D golden blond hoping for a subtle change on my mid brown hair. I was led to believe it would look like the colour on the pack or maybe a bit darker. After using it my hair is now a shocking bright orange. I will never buy this brand again.

Herbatint est un produit que j'utilise depuis des années. Sans ammoniaque, il est pas nocif pour les cheveux et donne un résultat naturel. Un peu de revitalisant ( inclus) sur les pointes et les cheveux sont brillants. Couvre très bien le gris. Moins de perte de cheveux. Je recommande.

I’ve been dyeing my hair forever and have tried so many brands, but nothing gives the rich, vibrant color like this one! I actually discovered it by mistake while I was looking for vegan hair dyes, and I’m so glad I did. Not only is it better than any other hair dye, but it’s also free of toxins!What’s even better is that I don’t have to wait 40 minutes or more (like the other hair dyes) I just leave it on for 10 minutes and I’m good to go. With other hair dyes, you have to keep a close eye on the color in the mirror because if you don’t, it can turn out too dark or too light in a matter of minutes. But with this one, you can literally put it on and take a nap if you want, and you’ll still get the exact color that’s promised on the box.
