If I could have given this more stars I would have. I was in subacute rehab, trying to use the slide boards that they had in their facility, but I could not. I looked at Amazon to see if they had any different slide boards and found this one. My therapist said that it probably not going to work, but I decided to try it anyway. It worked so well. I was immediately able to use the slide board and progress in my therapy. The therapist at the facility showed everyone and they had planned on ordering some for their facility.

My husband recently had a stroke leaving him basically incapacitated; he is not able to stand or walk. While in rehabilitation, there were always two individuals to help him transfer from his bed to his wheelchair, etc. At home, l am the only person doing this. The physical therapist recommended a slide board, and after researching the reviews, I decided to try this one. My husband is not a small individual (273 lbs.), and neither one of us is young (both 78 years old). The physical therapist was very surprised with this board, and it really does the job! It is thin, smooth enough to wedge under him, and easy enough for him to slowly shimmy across to complete a transfer. It is very durable and lightweight, but it is strong enough for a heavier person to use. It has a slight curve to it, which allows the patient to be a bit more flexible and comfortable than using a straight board. I also purchased a sheet for this board to make sliding easier, but it is seldom necessary. We are very pleased!!
