Product Description Starring Shia LaBeouf as a 20something slacker who, with his single mother, are framed as terrorists and forced to become members of a cell with plans to commit a political assassination. .co.uk Review The "cell phone thriller" is becoming a genre unto itself, and Eagle Eye should be considered a key example of the form. Frankly preposterous but compulsively watchable, this movie puts Shia LaBeouf in a mess of trouble instigated by a mysterious telephone voice. If he doesn't follow orders, dire things will happen--although when he does follow orders, the consequences are pretty dire, anyway. Also being blackmailed is a single mom (Michelle Monaghan) receiving similar phone calls. Why are they being jerked around by the purring female voice, and why is the road leading to Washington, D.C.? Actually, you won't have time to contemplate these questions, because director D.J. Caruso (who guided LaBeouf in Disturbia) keeps the action going at the customary breakneck pace. This is a wise move, because the real questions you'd likely be asking have to do with the plausibility of events on a minute-by-minute basis (most notably: how could Mysterious Phone Voice possibly know that the two pigeons would survive the hoops she makes them fly through, each one more death-defying than the last?). The actors tumble through this mayhem like scattering bowling pins, including Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson as government agents. Nobody has time to make much of an impression, and LaBeouf has much less room for puppydog charm than he did in Disturbia. Even that would be all right within the movie's berserk parameters, but the really irritating thing is the way the tacked-on final scenes reverse what would have been a heroic climax. No guts, no glory. --Robert Horton

Something Different
The film has a strange storyline but please do not be put off purchasing it.If you are in to action, intrigue, and twists, this totally delivers. The only adverse observation I could make about this classic movie is;- once you've watched it and know where it is going, it is done. There is no going back as in the likes of the Blues Brothers that you can watch time and time again and find something new every time. This movie delivers everything first time.Buy it, enjoy it but keep the plot to yourself, everyone needs to see this innovative masterpiece.Mike O

at this price, a great buy
This film is about surveillance and the role of the state, having said all that is it certainly not The Conversation [DVD] or Blow Out [DVD]. In fact it is not even as good as Die Hard 4.0 [2007] [DVD] which it shares numerous similarities with.It is a big budget techno-thriller for people who don't want to think too hard, a more recent version of Enemy Of The State [DVD].The film pretty much grabs you from the get go, the leads are okay, if nothing too special. It is all a bit frantic and shouty, but it all sort of makes sense. The story is actually fairly well put together, with a beginning, middle and end, and some character development. There is probably a thoughtful film in there trying to get out, but this is the big loud no brainer version and none the worse for that. There is no point listing the technical errors or improbabilities, there are too many to mention, but within its own internal world it works okay.I watched the film with my family a while back, and we were looking for something to watch last night. We had all enjoyed it first time round, but everyone else had pretty much forgotten it! In just a few words, entertaining, completely forgettable.

Movie eagle eye
Great stuff. Bought it on amazon prime so it is digital, easy to watch access but bad point... there were two copies of the movie listed, each in the list offer a purchase copy and a rented copy... I rented because of the price. I later found the second listed copy costed cheaper to rent and purchase from the listed version i went for. Make sure to research before you buy. I originally wanted the full rights copy. So great movie. Amazon kindle however sucks in marketing regards.

Brilliant film, from start to finish!
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!! What a movie! Suspense and action packed, from start to finish, and yes, the storyline is great too. A great buy, was Eagle Eye, don't rent it, to try it, just go ahead, and buy it.

Action-packed nonsense. Far better films around.
A film for those who need constant action rather than considered plot, this film certainly didn't feel particularly original. It felt like a cross between "2001 A Space Odyssey", "I Robot", "Mission Impossible" and "Enemy of the State", but aimed at the same audience as, perhaps, the Alex Ryder stories - "Stormbreaker" etc). Neither was it (after a confusing start) mentally challenging, having a very predictable second half.Listing a few similar(ish) things that I have watched, as you work through this list the action content increases and the plot interest decreases - "The Lives of Others", "The Conversation" / "The Last Enemy - The Complete Mini-Series", "Enemy of the State", "Eagle Eye". I prefer things earlier in that list to things later in that list, but if you love action films then you might prefer things in the opposite order. So, not very original and not remotely mentally challenging. However, it's an easy film to watch and it is non-stop action. If you've watched the list I gave above, then you might be disappointed by Eagle Eye, but otherwise sit back and enjoy.

Great Thriller
"Eagle Eye" is a heart-pounding thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat with its relentless pace and high-stakes plot. The seamless integration of cutting-edge technology adds an extra layer of intrigue to the film.
