It's All About Having The Right Tool For The Job
If you're looking to get pizza dough balls out of a proofing box, this is the right tool. I usually make something like 3-5 pizzas per week and recently started using a proofing box instead of the individual containers for a single dough ball so purchased this scraper to go with it. While there are other tools you can use, this is certainly much more suited to the job than a putty knife or even a kitchen spatula and I'm not sure I understand some of the negative comments in some other reviews. Some people have mentioned that there's not that much flex in the blade. This is important to be able to lift a 280 gram, or more, dough ball straight out of the proofing box without dumping it on an adjoining dough ball. The knife edge is sharp so that you're able to separate a single dough ball from the adjoining dough balls before lifting. The blade is also angled allowing you to slip a back corner of the scraper in the space where two dough balls meet and then simply lower the blade to make the separation. This seems to be a quality instrument and, while there are multiple uses for it, it's really designed for that one purpose of separating and removing dough balls from a proofing box, and while you could use a putty knife for removing the dough balls, that's really made for applying Spackle to a wall.

Great pizza tool
I use this tool to get my dough balls out of the proofing box. The edge is long and thin and cuts perfectly to release the dough. Super easy to clean the too just pop it in the dishwasher. It's held up after many uses.
