Fits like a glove!
It's a bummer that this wasn't included with the PS5 Pro. But for what it's worth and especially for is "disc users" this disc drive is pretty solid.It plays both PS4 & PS5 disc's games easily and I appreciate the fact that if you insert the disc incorrectly (as I did the first couple of times), it doesn't get loud and violent and break or so. You'll get an error on screen to say the the disc is unreadable by which you just need to eject rhe disc and flip it over and it's all good to go.The installation was pretty simple as well. Except that gut renching feeling you get when you have to remove the PS5's lower side panel and sounds like you're about to break it. Otherwise it's all good.

Easier than putting a dvd in a dvd player!
I was worried I would need some sort of knowledge or know how to install this on my ps5 pro, but to my surprise it was an easy 3 step process. First I pop off the white shell covering where the drive was to go then put the one end in first then press down the other snapped in, then power on and put in disc! No worries or plugs just line the disc drive up and press in easy peezy! Was worth the upgrade I still believe owning a disc is better than owning a digital copy, best part was it was the same price as Walmart or GameStop yet I didn’t have to take the drive!

Annoying, but necessary
This should come with every playstation, especially the PS5 Pro, but it is an easy way to get some extra money for Sony I guess. The drive itself is perfect, and installs easily. Be aware, the device needs to be online because the drive has to be registered to your PS5 (I'm guessing to prevent sharing it?). The one thing I do like about this is that the eject button is on the disk attachment, so you won't accidentally hit the eject button instead of the power button like I always did on the old PS5.

Worth it for physical game media
Really good and worth it! Definitely get it if you are worried about not accessing your digital content for whatever reasons. I bought this so that my nephew can build up his library with physical game media! It is slightly loud but honestly does not bug anyone in the family and great to hear it roar when it turns on!

It’s a PS5 disk drive
Disk drive works on the PS5 Pro, no issues. It’s nice to not actually buy something like this at scalper prices.

Finally back in stock!
Its been hard to find since I bought by PS5 Pro last year. Honestly, Sony, shoulda just had it bundle from the start. Anyway, Amazon had it listed again this week at the standard retail price w/ Prime. Initially, Amazon had an estimated ETA of 2 weeks. To my surprise, it shipped the the same day I ordered & was dropped off at my doorsteps in 2 days(placed order on a Monday & got it delivery on Wednesday). I primary got it as I do have a collection of physical media games(mix of PS5 & PS4) and movies. The drive is extremely easy to install. I just followed one of the many numerous How-to's on YouTube. Overall, solid purchase.
