Preparation is key.
The media could not be loaded. A fascinating project that takes time and patience to complete. The instructions are a little baffling at first but once you get the idea you can follow along. It is imperative that you follow the instructions exactly or the clock will not assemble correctly. I painted mine to look like brass and the result is quite splendid. It is ticking away behind me as I write this review (see video). If I were to do this again I would take more time preparing each individual piece to give it the best finish (and I would not paint over all the interlocking bits - oops).

A great model and challenge
It’s intricate but well explained in the plans. The design of the kit is a marvel on its own.I had many hours of fun preparing and assembling the parts, and the clock even has a nice ticking sound.Very much enjoyed building the clock and will be looking at their other kits.

Great value for money, and amazing fun!
Possibly one of the most challenging puzzles I've ever put together, as long as you follow the instructions from page 1 to 16 in that order, you will not have any issues with this wooden clock puzzle. My clock worked after I assembled it, first time, and will remain working for 3 to 5 hours, depending on how tight you wind it up. One word of caution, some of the gears are a little warped, and you should not attempt to straighten them out as they are very dry, and will crack or even break, I had one gear crack, but nothing a little glue didn't fix. Definitely something to do with your kids! I only wish this company made more wooden clock kits/puzzles. :-(

Wooden clock
Purchased this as a Christmas gift and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and thought put into the kit.Following being built my husband did find some of the parts just weren't strong enough and would wear down/broke which was a shame. The wind up mechanism also doesn't last as long as we would have liked. However the building of the clock he thoroughly enjoyed and it was interesting to see it all come together.

Totally recommend
It takes a couple of hours to build but when it is finished it looks fantastic and it ticks for upto about 5 hours. I would love to find more clock like this to build.

Patience is virtue
The media could not be loaded. Having read the comments about it not working, I was not expecting much, but after 4 hours of building and a couple nadgering, I had a working clock with a very satisfying tick. I have yet to adjust it, but I expect it will keep reasonable time, but perhaps not for long periods as the spring is not great. However a satisfying project. The instructions are all pictorial, and it is sometimes difficult to workout first time what is needed, but the secret is taking time and following the process exactly in order. The laser-cut pieces come out quite easily, and I did not need to use any emery paper to tidy up - again do not rush it. Although not indicated, it is a good idea to put together all the templates and keep them in a box until needed. It saves time, but do make sure you use the right one.

Disappointing
My wife bought this as a gift.Once unwrapped, the plywood sheets warped and twisted. For most of the gears, this wasn't too much of a problem, but with the toothed wheel and crutch forming the escapement, it was difficult to get it to work. The pendulum twisted so it was difficult getting it to hang without rubbing on the frame. Also, the pendulum adjusting mechanism should have a square nut - my kit had a hexagonal nut with the wrong thread, which did not fit.I enjoyed assembling the model, and found it fairly easy if you take your time and study the instructions. As an educational toy, it shows how a clock works. Once assembled, and with a bit of fiddling, I could get it to run for an hour or so.P.S. Having left it for a week, the spring has lost its power, and now it won't run at all.So, fun to build, but the end result disappointing.
