Nice generic scanner for the price
I needed a cheap scanner to check I/M readiness and do quick code scans for waiting customers. This scanner works perfect for this.It also has some other nice functions like livestream data chart, freeze frame, battery/charging system voltage meter, DTC lookup, and it can even connect to a printer. I also like how you can change the units of measure in the settings.I have had an intermittent problem with the buttons glitching out. For example, when I press the up button it scrolls down instead, and the exit button will randomly become unresponsive. This doesn’t bother me too much. It only happens here and there. I know not to expect much from these cheap handheld scanners.

Handy tool too use before taking the vehicle in for repairs
Our truck has been running rough for a while. We didn't really want to take it to a garage to run a diagnostic. We do quite a bit of our own mechanic work so thought maybe it was time to pick up code reader. We tried it. It works. First scan showed evap leaks. Picked up the parts and swapped them out. Second scan showed misfiring issues with a couple of the cylinders. Picked up the parts for tune-up (it was time). Third scan and the results were all over the place, repeatedly. We did end up taking the truck in. Turns out it now has cylinder/head issues that had the garage mechanic sort of scratching his head a bit because a tune-up (new sparks / coil packs) shouldn't cause this sort of chaos BUT that isn't because of the code scanner didn't work correctly. It's a 2014 Ram Hemi work truck with 150,000+ very hard 'road warrior' miles on the engine/transmission and mechanical parts just plain wear down after a period of time. What was great about the Sazdoln Diagnostic Code Reader was how compact and easy to use it was. The husband was able to hook it up and figure out how to operate it without any problems. The data appeared to be accurate and it charges quickly. It has a nice storage/carry case which is a good thing. It's new home is probably going to be in said work truck and I will never see it again. He didn't care so much for how the different function / results screens operated. Some had multiple screens/pages he could scroll through and others didn't or the looked like they did but he couldn't get the screen to move on to the next one. We've never used a code reader so that could just be operator error. At one point he has some assistance from a couple of friends that are mechanics. They were pretty impressed with the scanner - said that it was pretty fancy and had some options that other 'personal/home' readers they've used did not. Overall, it's a pretty handy little tool to have on hand.

A Wealth of Information, So Easy to Use
Boy these have come a long way in the past decade. I recall when I first got one of these the cost was so so high. They gave me a lot of information but not this much. I think the biggest difference is how easy the interface is to use and read. The information is so much better organized. There is so much information you can get in just a couple of minutes to know what's going on with your vehicle. That could end up saving you a lot of money because you can repair yourself if you want or you can go in to a repair shop with knowledge of what you need. This is an amazing value and a definite recommend.

Very simple to use, a must for older vehicles.
So first off having an older vehicle you just come to grips with you are going to have “pretty lights” on your dash. The ability to know what they are and if any new ones have been added to the not so critical list or do something about it list, is a great piece of mind.-This came very well packaged and in its own little carry case.-Very compact and convenient.-The instructions are very simple.-Very easy operation just plug it in and it gets right to work.-Very helpful that not only does it read the code it tells you in layman terms (not just numbers) what it means.Overall we are very happy with this little gadget. The ease in which it works and the piece of mind it gives is much appreciated.
