Excellent all around paddle
Paddle came in good condition. Did not appear used, no ball marks on the surfaces. Great paddle and price.

Great paddle
Love this paddle!! Lightweight and easy to control. A little pricey but it seems that's what many paddles are going for these days.

Used
This was listed as a new paddle. This is the condition it arrived in. Those are obvious marks from the actual pickleball. Scuffs on the edge guard. So it was most definitely used and not new

A different day makes a big difference! See update below
Uddated review, March 19th, 2024:I reviewed this paddle back in january, and at that time for some reason it did not work for me! Shortly after, I was injured and could not play for about 6 weeks. When I came back to play, I knew I wanted to give this paddle another shot, I couldn't help but wonder if I had been wrong. First I had my wife try it. After a little warm up, we got a game going, and the difference in her playing ability was astounding! I then took the paddle for the next game, and i also found it to work extremely well. I found it actually had an incredibly powerful and accurate sweet spot, and it upped my game to a different level as well! I'm not sure what happened the first day i tried it, but I am glad that I gave it a second chance!Contrary to what is written below by me originally, I have done a complete turn around on this paddle, and I definitely recommend it!One of the shots I made may have been luck, but here is what happened; I was fo far forward, a shot came to me that I couldn't get, so I quickly pivoted 180 degrees, got the paddle behind the ball, and batted it back over my back and back over the net in bounds! No one saw it coming and we got the point!Original review from January 23 below:I was surprised by how small it's sweet spot is. I expected a lot more from this paddle.I was sadly disappointed by this paddle, especially given it's price. At first I thought I was having a bad pickle day, so i tried a much less expensive paddle. Immediately my game improved 100%! Maybe I got a defective paddle, I don't know. I do see a lot of other people love this paddle, but right from the start i found myself looking at the paddle to made sure I really had the Joola Hyperion in my hand. I did indeed, and it just was not working. If not for the having the other paddle to immediately switch to, I would have thought it was me. The change was immediate and dramatic, so I know it was the paddle. It would be very interesting to try another paddle of this model and see if I see any difference. At this point, I can not recommend this paddle, and I don't think it was me, it did not work well.

The most complete paddle I've ever owned
Over the last few years I've been lucky enough to test and review over 20 pickleball paddles, ranging in price from $50 at the low end to $250. There have been a number of off-brand paddles but also some more well-known brands such as Selkirk and Joola. In my opinion, this is the best all-around paddle I've ever used. More than 50% of the paddles I've used have been > $125 so there have been some paddles that have come close to the Hyperion C2, but from the grip to the sweet spot to the control, this does it all. Here are a couple of comments on these points:*GRIP. The Feel Tec Pure Grip (Joola marketing term) appears to be a proprietary grip technology to help absorb sweat. I don't have particularly sweaty hands but if I did, I would probably just bring a towel...so maybe this doesn't do a lot for me. However, I do like the handle and the grip. I can't say that this is the best handle or grip that I've ever used, but it's comfortable, a little tacky and works well. It's either at the top or near the top of handles/grips I've used.*SWEET SPOT. I have not found another paddle that performs as well when it comes to the sweet spot. I brought several of my favorite paddles to the court this weekend so I could test them against the Joola Hyperion C2...a couple were close, but I decided that this paddle just delivered the best feel and power with contact. The paddle just feels smoother.*CONTROL. For me, control is more than being able to effectively spin the ball, which this does well. It also means getting a predictable response from the paddle so I know precisely where my ball will go. This paddle does this for me. It doesn't hurt that the sweet spot is larger which seems to translate to more control and even a little extra power. There is a paddle made by Holbrook that I feel does a pretty good job here too....but I'm going to give the nod to Joola.Overall....this paddle really has no drawbacks, it's suitable for just about anyone who plays pickleball (as long as it's in your budget). It's just so well rounded that I think most people who play would really like this paddle. I will say that I really would've liked the paddle to come with a neoprene cover, but that has nothing to do with the paddle itself. If you plan to invest in nice paddle such as this, you should get a cover to keep the surface protected.
