GOOD PRODUCT

I've read that these type of filters are considered to be less effective than the internal type. I bought this for an (old fashioned 80s style) aquarium and I am very happy with it. It is a perfect fit and works well. Its not easy to find these type of filters, so I was glad to find it finally on amazon. I guess because they are not as popular as they used to be. I received it quickly and it was exceptionally well packed. It comes with two uplifts and it would have been really helpful to have had the option of a third at the time of purchase as the plate has three holes (one in centre), I don't think one each end is sufficient for a 4ft tank, but would probably do for a smaller tank. Overall, I am happy with this purchase and the service from the seller.

The best type of under Gravel filter you could ever buy. Perfect performance. Reliable.

On the outside, this looks like it should work, but it falls flat.Things that could be easily improved:- there are waffles, but the "holes" are on the top of the waffle, which means that the "crud" fills in the bottom of the waffle and will never get sucked into the filter- The instructions say that this will help naturally break down the waste into the gravel, but I'd rather the filter do it- There is an up-hose, but no filter, which means the bad bits just gets recirculated- I hooked a back filter to the up-hose, but since the holes were on the top, it didn't do anythingOn the pros, it did fit the tank well.As the subject says, it was in the bin in about a week.

Brilliant bit of kit, no major issues fitting it, had to trim it a little to fit tank

Arrived promptly and although about 5 inches short for my tank size is working fine.
