Great way to start your day.
The book contains a scripture, a short story and a prayer for each day of the year. It is a great way to welcome God into your morning - even when you think you just don't have time. The back of the book has a short bio on each of the contributing authors. You will find yourself so touched by the stories they share you will begin adding them to your own prayers.

Perfect devotions.
I actually read 16 Daily Guideposts a day this year. The entire 21st Century thus far. Perfect devotions.

Daily Guidepost
This is a great start to any day. My mother and I both read it even though we live across the country from each other, we can share the same daily devotion. This makes it even more meaningful.

Wonderfully Inspirational
My mother has given me Daily Guideposts as a Christmas gift for decades and it is always a treasured possession that lasts the entire year. "Surprised by God" is the theme for the 2008 edition. Mysteriously Van Varner, whose writings I have admired for years wrote his last devotional for December 23 which talked about his family being reunited. He mentions they were now deceased and his best Christmas was when they were reunited one last time on earth. No one knew Varner would die in 2008 and that would be his last Daily Guideposts contribution. In reflecting on my own surprises by God throughout the year I recalled things I would have overlooked if I had not journaled in the reader notes at the end of each month. Indeed, God had surprised me continually throughout the year. Some of my favorite Guideposts authors are here, Fred Bauer, Elizbeth and John Sherrill, Daniel Schantz, Marilyn Morgan King, really I could go on and on. Reading them daily year in and year out I feel a personal, spiritual connection. I'm sure thousands of other people do too.I have almost two rows of Daily Guideposts books shelved in my library now. Each one is well marked and carries great spiritual memories. I relate to what Fay Angus writes, "The warm embrace of books wraps itself around you the moment you step into my living room--floor-to-ceiling shelves of books." Daily Guideposts 2008 can now be moved from the bedpost to the shelve as I move on the Daily Guideposts 2009.

Day Brighteners for each new day
I have been buying Daily Guidepost devotional books each year since I received one as a gift in 1984. This is one book that I will always buy, because there are uplifting personal short stories for each day. Many times, the stories have helped me with personal problems in my own life. I highly recommend this book. It is inspirational in nature, but does not highlight specific religion or churches.

Heartwarming and Inspiring
I like to read the Guidepost magazine, so I bought this book. It has so many lessons to be learned and so much to share! Every story gives you something to think about and reflect on the entire day. Stories that make you realize something and change your life for the better. Read it and see the world in a new way.
