Easy to follow instructions

I borrowed this book from a friend, and kept it a long time, so I figured I should buy it, and give her back her copy! Really nice quilts made with strips in this book. Can't say if the instructions are good because i havent made a quilt from the book. Just like a lot of the quilts in this book. I like Evelyn Sloppy's books a lot.

We were looking for a specific pattern for a quilt that we had seen someone post on Facebook. We were told to try this book and sure enough the pattern was in it. We look forward to using the pattern to create a new quilt that will feature our Batik material well. Thanks for a wonderful book of patterns. The seller sent it out quickly and in like new condition.

Good basic instructions, easy to follow, lots of different ideas for piecing quilt tops with strips of fabric.I do wish there was an added chapter with ideas on quilting a finished top.

Strips and Strings is a really great book with patterns for using left over fabrics. I love the ideas plus the ease of following a pattern and not having to make up my own. Great book!! Best part of the whole deal is it was such a great price. Love buying from Amazon. It is so convienent

Evelyn Sloppy's "Strips & Strings,Sixteen Sparkling Quilts" is a very clearly written guide to making quilts mostly from strips of scraps. It was required for a class that I will be taking this fall, but I expect to make several more of the projects besides the one we will do in class. After using some other books full of typo's and bad instructions, this book is a breath of fresh air.

Evelyn Slpopys books are great bc they are so well written, not many mistakes her books. Her fabrics are hideous(in the pics) as usual however her patterns are always wonderful!!!

I loved her other books but there is nothing in this one that I would like to try tomake.

In the introduction the author explains how she loved the idea of using up her stash of scraps(dont we all) but wanted to have more structure and co-ordination in her finished quilts, so this book sets out to show us how to mix stringquilting techniques in with traditional block patterns. There are 16 quilt patterns in the book and lots of 'how to' guides, you really get the idea that the author has tried lots of different methods and is honest enough to say what does and doesn't work. This is a good book if you like the look of string/strip quilts but are not sure how to start, and for the more experienced quilter there are some stunning designs to spark the imagination

There are several quilts I want to make, I especially like the cover one. There are some great ideas so well worth the price.

I cannot believe how amazing this book is. It is full of incredibly great ideas and makes it all look achievable. So pleased with the purchase. Packaging very sensible and lightweight. Delivery impressively quick.
