Polare 17'' Full Grain Leather Briefcase Laptop Attache Case Messenger Bag For Men Fits 15.6'' Laptop

I travel a lot - typically flying over 100,000 miles a year mainly short haul and at destinations commute from where I stay to offices. I carry my laptop and a work laptop and a full size tablet, two cellphones and all the cables chargers etc that you need these days in zip bags . I also often have paperwork to carry. My previous bag was a leather roll-aboard style with a shoulder strap and after 5 years was falling apart inside. It had been a replacement for the same model that also died after 5 years or so when the shoulder strap attachment broke. The current model does not have a shoulder strap and as I used that more than the wheels I replaced it with this Polare 17" leather messenger bag which I received it 2 days after ordering on Amazon. It is a real step up in heavy duty quality. It is a little daunting having to rework where you put things in a different bag and then there is the concern about will it still slide 'under the seat in front of you' once full . What is more daunting with this Polare bag is the number of choices of where to put things!Starting at the back is a slim section that I am using for log book and documents. The next section has a pocket with a velcroed top strap the entire width of the bag I put one of my laptops into that the other lap top fits snugly outside the pocket in the same section. These are not the 17" behemoths that some carry but smaller 13" and 14" laptops it is still surprising that when zippered shut the back of the bag does not bulge at all it has just swallowed the two laptops. As they are not 17" wide I slide them both to one side and in the space alongside them I have a zippered cable bag with power blocks and mains cable for both computers.The middle section of the bag is padded and could be used for another 17" computer however I have my tablet on end and some more cables and chargers and small hard drives in bags yet the space is not all taken up.The next section has multiple pockets for pens and cards etc. with a larger pocket behind the pen holder which I have things like a pen torch mobile mouse ( Microsoft RVF-00052 Arc Touch Mouse ) and tide stick ;-) (Always travel with one!) There is a zippered pocket behind this which would be a good place to secure things like passports. As someone else has said there is no 'built in' clip for keys so I attached a wire luggage tag through the zip at the back of this section and clipped a key fob holder to that it is a logical place. I have a spare glasses case in that section but it is by no means full.In front are two zippered pockets I am keeping things like security passes, cell phones, USB keys etc in them. They expand more than you would expect.Once the bag is full it is actually easier to zip shut as the case sides are held in place the zips and zip pulls are very heavy quality and as previous reviews have said the leather is too; it is at least twice as thick as my previous bags. So now I have the bag full and zippered shut. It is a lot lighter than my previous bag as it hasn't got the frame and wheels and the strap connects to the bag in a way that makes it hang tidily on your shoulder and not attempt to slide off (a habit of my previous bags). The bag does not look full even with the things above, stands upright, and, more importantly, easily fits 'under the seat in front' even in an MD-88 in coach.I am still getting used to 'where I have put things' but I would really strongly recommend that people, who travel as much or more than I do, consider this bag as it does everything you would want, and it looks good as it does it.

I've had this bag for about 6 months now, and have really grown to love it. It's a little on the large size, but for the things I typically carry with me, it works great. The leather handle is very comfortable and the bag carries really well. The two main features I wanted in a briefcase are its ability to stand upright on it's own (check!), and access to everything from the top while it stands on the floor or desk (check!). The leather is thick and the quality is really quite good. It sits on the shoulder very comfortably and the leather strap does not slip easily. The overall layout of the bag, location, size, and number of zipper pockets is great, and the zippers are rugged and high quality. A little oil applied to the zippers every few months helps them stay smooth. This is a very attractive, functional bag, and for the price, a real bargain! I love it ...

Update:After three years of abuse this bag is still going. Some of the zippers are unzipped (with the fastener on the wrong side) some of the lining is a little torn up but it is still completely functional. I overloaded it (a 17" laptop, a surface, an ipad, power bricks, books, ...), I beat it up, I drug it around by the shoulder strap and threw it in cars, under seats, in hotels and in trunks. I'm buying a new one today just because I want a new one (and I don't have the patience to back up the messed up zippers). I though about getting something different but this bag is so flexible and tough I decided to stick with it and get a second one.Original:I have had this bag for a couple of months now and I have taken it on several trips. It seems to be holding up well and looks to be as rugged as my prior bag (which was 4-5x the price). It is much lighter than some heavy leather bags I have had in the past without seeming fragile, which is a plus. The thing I love about it the most though is all of the pockets and sections for storage.This bag has 4 zippered pockets on the outside front which I use for:- Glasses- Cell Phone- Tablet- In ear headphones/cell headsetEach pocket is the exact perfect size for the object mentioned and makes it so I don't have to dig for these 4 key things that I use constantly. Being outside pockets, its super easy to grab these things without hassle and before I go anywhere I can check these pockets to make sure all four of these key things are with me.It has 4 separate zippered main sections. The first is good for pens, biz cards, etc. and has an internal zippered pocket perfect for passports and checkbooks. The second is a well protected central section good for a small laptop or whatever (my surface goes in here when I carry my Asus). The third zippered section has a padded divider perfect for a small laptop in the padded part (I keep my surface in there usually) and power/mouse/etc. in the other part. This section is deep so when I carry my 17" Asus I put it here. The fourth section is great for a folio/notepads etc. and also has an internal zippered pocket for more important documents. The back side of the bag has a trolley strap to make the bag easy to stack on top of a rolling bag.What is amazing is that this fairly compact bag can hold my 17" Asus Rog G752 gigantic laptop, my surface, my iPad, my phone, my folio and a bunch of other junk, all perfectly organized and zippered up. So far I have had no zipper problems and from inspection would say the zippers look pretty robust to my eye. The strap seems solid as well. The hand carry straps could be a little more padded but that is a pretty small gripe.So far I have not seen any leather stain rubbing off on my clothes as some others have mentioned (was worried about that). I have the light tan colored bag so maybe that's a factor.In summary, this may be my favorite bag and I have had my share.

I travel frequently for work, and my laptop case/briefcase has to be my office. I want something that is both attractive and functional, and this case exceeded my expectations.It has 3 main compartments, as well as countless pockets to help organize all of my materials. The laptop compartment has a dedicated pocket for the laptop with a Velcro fastener to ensure that it stays where it belongs. There is plenty of room in the remainder of the compartment for documents, folders, etc, as well as a zippered pocket for smaller items.The center compartment is very large, and can easily accommodate accordion-style folders, multiple legal-sized file folders, or bound documents.The third compartment is designed to accommodate office items such as pens, business cards, etc. It has tasteful leather accents that add a nice touch, along with a smaller leather-trimmed pocket and a zippered pocket for smaller items.The back of the bag has a large zippered pocket that occupies the length and height of the bag, and would be appropriate for holding further documents or folders. On the front of the bag are 4 more smaller pockets, all zippered to protect their contents, that are ideal for chargers.The leather is rugged and of excellent quality. All 8 external zippers are heavy-duty yet attractive, and I have no worries about them being able to stand up to heavy use. The bag hardware that the strap attaches to, as well as the strap hardware itself, is strong and well-constructed.I have absolutely no regrets about selecting this bag. I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s the best laptop briefcase I have had to date, and I'm sure it will serve me well for a long time.

I travel a lot and often with a bunch of random items as I travel from clinic to clinic - this bag has been a lifesaver due to 3 massive compartments that are fully independent from each other, and then plethora of smaller storage on the sides so that you can grab whatever might be really important to find in a tick. Bag is well made, leather is beautiful (note though that it looks slightly ligher than pictured - I chose the brown light brown version). Would definitely recommend.

My husband is very happy with this bag, he travels a lot and he can fit eveything he need and more in it. It is good quality leather and so far has stood up to a lot of punishment.

This is my second purchase from Polare. I previously bought a carry-on sized duffel bag which has held up brilliantly through my travels and aged beautifully. I bough this laptop bag based on that experience, and it has not dissapointed!The material quality is excellent, the leather is thick, and is a joy to look at - I am sure it will develop a lovely patina over time. The bag is very spacious, and comfortably holds my 17.3" laptop in the large centre padded compartment. When travelling for work this bag is able to carry my bulky laptop, power cords, wireless mouse, over ear headphones, notebook, tablet , thermos, water bottle, lunch and a small change of clothes. So I am sure it will serve well as a second carry-on peice too.Beautiful product and worth every penny

Putting my laptop in the slot for this purpose in the side compartment tends to make the bag less balanced. So I just put the laptop in the middle compartment. Otherwise the bag seems to be robust and well made.
