Tiny dog broke it
Got this for my brother’s 30lbs miniature beagle/husky mix. She broke the central rod on the second use.

GREAT KITTY CATCHER
I bought this to catch my ferrel cat thats now an inside only cat. He is an expert escape artist when he has to go to the Vet, and hides under my king size bed where I can't reach him. If I try to grab him he will attack and bite. This dog catcher pole works perfectly. Its long enough to reach him, and I can slip the noose around his neck. I don't tighten it enough to choke him, and I can gently lead him out and guide him into his carrier. It makes it much less stressful for both of us. If you have a naughty or stubborn kitty, this will make life easier for you both. We highly recommend this item.

Not made for medium or large dogs
I only got 1 use and the pole handle bent so easy. It was made with weak metal

Changed my mind
I was going to return the dog catcher pole because my wife thought it was too flimsy. It held down my 56lb dog when it tried to attack my defenseless cat. Deffinately not returning it. You can charge me for it. Well worth its weight in gold!

Don't use for wild animals
Tried to use for handling wild animals, not heavy duty enough. Animal started to twist and turn and ended up breaking the rod. My bad choice, needed something much heavier duty

Broke during first use.
The handle broke the first time I used it, unfortunately past the return window. Don’t recommend

Simple but effective
This hog catcher (my preferred use for this tool) is heavy for its size and seems very durable. The design is as simple as it can get which means it is not likely to fail me when I need it to work. A simple pull on the handle and the loop on bottom closes securely around whatever I am catching. (For whatever it’s worth, I would strongly recommend against catching anything by putting the loop over an animal’s head.). With pigs, even skittish pigs, I can generally get close enough while they are busy eating to put the loop around one of their hind legs. The legs are an approved and customary point for lifting or immobilizing small and large pigs. This catcher grabs tight enough that the pig cannot get away, but not so tight as to cause injury or harm to the pig. The loop automatically locks when pulled so the animal cannot escape. It is a great tool. I have also used this tool to catch a rather mean, aggressive turkey. I just let him kind of attack or feign like he is attacking while I kept the loop on the ground. When he stepped into the loop I pulled it like a snare. He was surprised and I was glad to have the menace under control again. I don’t know that I am brave enough to try to use this catcher if I was confronting a mean or aggressive dog, but it would probably work to catch a frightened dog.

Put together b4 sending
It's a pain in the butt to put together... comes in two pieces... as you are putting them together and tighten up one side it makes other side loosen up, after several attempts the best I could do was to get both sides as good as possible, then put electrical tape all around it to keep it together... you have to be careful to keep the loop in the proper position also... honestly I would love to see someone do a video on how they put this together at the factory where it is made, so the average person could do it or else just send it out already put together that would even be better..
