I'm very happy I got these shakers. They are my first set of percussion instruments. I watched a youtube tutorial showing me how to play shakers that I found very helpful. I already play guitar & piano & needed them for my studio. They feel great when playing. The size is good for my hands. I'm hapy about the volume if I'm playing in a small space along side a "quiet" guitar or piano. If I were to play them in a big venue or along a loud instrument I'd probably need to mic them. I'm glad about the various techniques I can execute to produce all kings of sounds & effects with just 2 egg shakers. I can simulate a high hat and snare & even do 16ths at tempos above 100BPM. I can simulate playing with brushes; the dragging or swelling motion. I can simulate maracas. You can get many interesting sounds out of them. They are a very versatile & fun little instrument. They look like they are good quality and will last a long time. For the price, these are definately very good value for money.

I am a sound therapy practitioner and was looking for a shaker to use at the end of my gong bath sessions. I needed something that was easily transportable, durable, not too expensive and which made a good quality sound. I have bought a range of Meinl products over the years to use in my sound therapy clinics and all have been excellent quality and manufacture to the highest standard irrespective of price. (You can probably tell that I'm a big fan of Meinl gear!). I tried these little shakers and they fulfilled all my requirements and demands. They are superb values for money. Such a simple design, they are easy to hold fitting nicely into one or two hands. The volume and rhythm is easy to control by the way you shake them - so simple yet effective! I now take these little shakers with me on all my sessions. Another prefect product from Meinl!

They’re lightweight, fit perfectly in your hand (can also fit both in one hand), and have a nice, crisp sound. Perfect for adding a little rhythm to your music. Good quality for the price, recommend for anyone from beginners to seasoned players.

Good egg shaker. Great sound. No complaints. Very nice.

I'm not happy with the sound of these eggs. It lacks depth and resonance. I did not return the item as its cheap enough and gave it to the kids just to play with. I bought a much better shaker a few days later. I would not recommend these shaker if you are looking for something to use in a band setup. Look for something else.
