Worth every penny
Plumbers missed the location by 2 inches. Found an offset adapter and then needed a way to trim the 2 inch PVC well below grade... 8.5 inches to be exact, and this tool was perfect for the job. Not sure how I would have done it otherwise. Smooth and easy does it. Nicely retained the cuttings so they didn't end up in the drain.

Perfect for machine like cuts on PVC below grade
Not many other tools on the market for cutting PVC below grade, like drain pipes in concrete slab. Found another option but it lacked the depth plate. This makes perfect cuts. Costs a bit, but quicker and easier than tearing up and replacing enough concrete to fix the entire PVC section

big mistake
I needed to cut a 2" pipe 6" down, which was below grade. This seemed like the best and easiest tool. Everything was set up fine, but inserting the tool into the pipe was very difficult. The spring loaded blade meant that I had to hammer it down to get it to the set depth. That was ok, but after I started cutting but before the pipe was cut, the depth gauge loosened and now the tool is stuck in the pipe at max depth, beyond my desired cut. I can't pull it out because of the blade. I couldn't have set the set screw any tighter for the depth cap. Just a total failure.My only option now is to cut the pipe at max depth, re-measure and add back some pipe with a collar adapter.It would have been cheaper and easier if I had just wrapped some tape around an extension shaft with a small buzz saw blade that you see on other internal pipe cutters. This hunk of junk will fail for the only time I ever needed to use it and go straight to the trash. It was supposed to save me a plumber, but this is worse.

Worth every penny !
Please do not look the negative reviews of this item.Either they are rookie or they don't know what they are doing. This product worth every penny when you are in a situation of bathroom remodeling.Took me 2 minutes to adjust and cut the pipe square without a sweat.Only one thing i cannot figure it out is the pipe stuck on the shaft.Since you cannot remove the collar really cannot figure it out how to remove the left over pipe easily :)) as you see on the picture.Please let me know if anybody knows.Thanks !
