Smooth 4

I’ve been wanting a stabilizer for several years, but have always balked at the cost vs features. They were usually upwards of $200, and were just a motorized gimbal. This unit is an amazing deal for the money. I got it for about $100, and it’s everything the reviews say. The stabilizer alone does an excellent job, but the fact you have all these tracking modes PLUS a follow focus(!!) and more - and the ability to charge the phone in-place makes it a no-brainer at this price. Truly pro level potential, if you take the time to learn it. If you expect it to get floating, dreamy shots without learning the techniques, you may be disappointed. First, get the app and run it. It’s easy to get an iPhone 11 to balance. Then hit connect on the phone. The thing pops to life, and you’re off an running in minutes. Look at the tutorials from users and you’ll get great results. It’s not a steadicam with a mechanical arm on a vest, it’s a hand-held stabilizer and you need to work with it and it’s limitations. But the results can be professional. And the battery life is ridiculous, stays charged for a LONG time. I had been in the market for a camera phone case for my iPhone X to improve the quality of my photos and videos, but nothing I looked at really seemed worth it. Then I decided to take a look into gimbals, and I'm so glad I found this one! It's more than just a simple stabilizer because of all of the advanced photo settings. The zoom and focus lens alone make it worth it, but there's just so much more that it can do. Any time I use it, my friends will be impressed just by seeing how well it works as a gimbal, then I tell them it's other capabilities and how much it cost, and they're floored! It's a sturdy device and the battery lasts for a good amount of time. Plus it's nice that it already comes charged! Again, I'm using an iPhone X and it works perfectly, so I can't speak to any of the issues that Android users have had. It's also worth noting that this is the only gimbal I've owned, so I've nothing to compare it to, but I've loved it for the reasons stated and for how user-friendly it is. So if you do have an iPhone and want to impress people (and yourself) by being able to do more with your phone and feel like a professional, the Smooth 4 is not going to disappoint. It looks, feels, and acts like it should cost way more.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8, GoPro 5, and my wife has the iPhone 8+. I did my homework, read the Pros/Cons, watched every YouTube video, and purchased the Smooth 4. The gimbal stabilizer by itself is well worth the money ($119.00). Yes, the ZY Play software for Android needs work to take advantage of all the functions and modes. I would have given five Stars had the software been perfect on the Galaxy S8. I am sure Zhiyun is focusing on this issue - They will sell a lot of Smooth 4's if they can fix the Android problems. Before you even get started: 1. Charge it. 2. Ensure you have the most updated Firmware (1.77). 3. Ensure you have the most updated ZY Play software (v1.11.4). 4. Ensure whatever you mount is balanced. Galaxy S8: Okay - you've already read all the other reviews and I won't beat a dead horse. Couple things, 3x3 Pano does not work; it will take all 9 shots and will only stitch together the three middle pictures. On RES for S8 you only get two choices, 720p 30fps and 1080p 30fps. iPhone 8+: Takes advantage of all the functions and capabilities. Still need to play with it more to test out everything. GoPro Hero 5: The GoPro is point and shot, I just mount it right in the holder. I use a plastic bottle cap on top of the GoPro when putting it in the holder, it holds it fine. You can add a rubber band for more security and peace of mind. I hold the Smooth 4 handle backwards and use the gimbal stabilizer along with voice commands to start and stop video or taking a picture. Yeah, you can't see the window screen on the GoPro but it works for me. I tried to use an adapter plate but it doesn't balance very well and makes everything more bulky. Recommend a better adapter for the GoPro that will balance perfectly. I read a lot of reviews and many are ridiculous and some hilarious. Consider the product Vs. the price Vs. what you are using it for. If you purchase something that has no reviews and pull the trigger, you are on an island by yourself. I went in on this purchase knowing the support for the Andriod was limited. I'm confident Zhiyun will fix all the bugs over time. It does what I need it to do.

El Gimbal, no está mal. Me decidí por este modelo, después de mucho leer al respecto. El manual que trae, es muy parco, y hay que mirar en la red, para aprender un poco más. Dicho esto, decepción total, a los dos días de uso, dejó de funcionar, desconozco si fue por la temperatura que había en la calle...... Listo para devolver, me replantearé la compra de otro modelo de gimbal. Había comprado una funda para este gimbal, y ahora me tendré que quedar con ella.

Fantastic device. It's a game changer for smartphone videography. Anyone with a smartphone can now confidently produce high quality professional looking video for vloggers, businesses etc... Great value for the money, there is no competition for this product in my opinion.
