Building Projects Model Airplane
This was purchased for a gift. It appears to be of good quality and durable. I think it is also age appropriate for a child who is interested in building airplanes.

Sturdy, but the instructions are complex
I am overall happy with this purchase. The tank is sturdy like I had hoped and a nice size for my 8y.o. son to play with. My complaint stems from the assembly process since they can be challenging to follow for a child even with adult assistance. There is a great deal of complex dexterity needed to line up the bolts, nuts, and screwdriver without line of sight in later steps since pieces building upon themselves, and some problem solving required to figure out how to accomplish a step since the recommended sequence isn’t always the most achievable. Beyond this, my son loves this toy. Just be sure to keep the little screwdriver around for when the nuts and bolts inevitably loosen and fall out.

DO NOT BUY
I was really excited to buy this model for my son, however many of the pieces do not properly fit together, which prevented the screws from being properly screwed in. We expected slight differences since it is a metal model but the amount of pieces in this set that either didn't fit together or didnt match the instructions was excessive. When completing the wing, there is a rectangular piece and another piece that both have holes that should align according to the pictures. However the spacing of the holes is off on one side. We tried every possible way of flipping the pieces to get them to align but when one side is aligned the other is not. The pictures showed pieces we did not have, or the shape was slightly off. The directions in the booklet don't exactly match either and there are only pictures and lines, no written instructions. There are also a lot of pieces you have to bend on your own so if you or your child don't have good strength in your hand, dont buy this. Even I could barely get the pieces that needed to be bent to fit together. Overall we are just greatly disappointed and would not buy again.

Perfect to Customize
More than a decent model for the price. The assembly difficulty was "moderate", so I would not recommend it as a first time metal project for a child, maybe their third. Size is good, pleasing color contrast, and it actually represents a real English WW ll ship, which is now a museum piece. But the FUN part, in my opinion, is the potential for embellishment. I gave this one somewhat of a "steam punk" treatment with some metal gears, copper tubing and brass stuff I had lying around. And I just had to replace the half dozen plastic parts that came with the kit, to make it ALL metal... Just my thing. Overall a good model of this type, as either a toy or an art project. Enjoy!
