OWON SPM3051 DC Power Supply Variable, 2 in1 Power Supply & Multimeter, Bench Power Supply (0-30V,0-5A), with 2.8 inch High Precision LED, USB Interface Support SCPI, 4 1/2 Digital multimeter

After a bad experience with the HANMATEK HM310T power supply, I decided to give this one a chance. I am very impressed with the performance of this. Very lightweight and it doubles as a bench multimeter. The USB port allows me to control it flawlessly via my computer. It uses SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) protocol which is just serial commands over USB, similar to how Arduino does it. My only complaint is that the main power switch is on the back, making it a little less convenient as a bunch power supply. It's saving grace that there is an output control, and it can be set to on or off when AC power is applied to it. The other thing I like is that it can supply 300W and if you use a higher voltage, the current capacity is automatically lowered. The user interface is also a pleasure to use, and was designed by a competent engineering team, unlike the crap I replaced. Very good value, and I expect years of reliable service from this unit.

This is my first "real" bench power supply. I didn't want to spend the extra money for a lower noise "linear" supply, but I think the OWON SPM6103 will work well for me.I am pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of the built-in DMM. The voltage readings on the internal DMM match the readings on my Fluke 87V DMM within 1mV.The power supply voltage increments in 10mV steps, so you can't set it to single mV precision. However the built-in DMM resolution goes down to 0.1mV when the built-in DMM Range is <2.0v).As can be seen in the scope photo, there is some "ringing" (switching noise) on the output, so some external filtering and/or linear voltage regulator could always be used if needed, depending on how quiet the circuit you're powering up needs to be.

Owen was not a brand I had used before. I was therefore a little apprehensive when I ordered. This is a great product. Well made, robust, great screen etc. so good a bought an Owon sig generator to go with.

Schönes kompaktes Gerät mit noch schönerem Display für den Arbeitsplatz. Alles funktioniert recht gut.Die Qualität der Ausgangsspannung ist, wie man es von einem Schaltnetzteil erwarten muss, eher mässig. Die Werte werden gut gehalten, aber es gibt halt schon einen kräftigen "ripple". Dafür jede Menge Leistung.Die Kombination mit dem 4,5 stelligen Multimeter hilft, am Arbeitsplatz Ordnung zu halten. Die Messfunktionen sind gut und ausreichend genau, man muss sich aber an die Bedienung gewöhnen, da einige Bedien-Tasten sowohl fürs Netzteil als auch fürs Multimeter benutzt werden. Die Auswahl Netzteil/Multimeter erfolgt über eine "mode"Taste.Gut: Im Ohmbreich 10mOhm AuflösungNicht ganz so gut: etwas langsame Reaktion, bis der Messwert stabil angezeigt wird.Nicht gut: Die grafische Anzeige von Spannung und Strom über die Zeit ist hübsch, aber m.E. nutzlos, weil die Zeit fest auf 60s eingestellt ist. Habe keine Einstellmöglichkeit für die Aufzeichnungsdauer entdecken können. Schön wäre Anzeige über mehrere Stunden, wenn zB ein Akku geladen wird.Nicht wirklich gut: Die "intelligente" Lüftersteuerung ist wohl noch intelligenter als die meisten Nutzer es sind. Ich kann der Logik auf jeden Fall nicht folgen ;-) : Der Lüfter versucht bei Belastung anzulaufen, macht Geräusche aber dreht noch nicht, plötzlich wird dann für einige Sekunden hörbar beschleunigt, dann geht er wieder aus... hmmm, ich glaube, da muss ich eine weniger "intelligente" Steuerung einbauen. Das nervt, obwohl es wohl nicht wirklich schadet.Innen sieht der Aufbau vertrauenerweckend aus, es fehlten bei meinem Gerät allerdings die vom Lack freigestellten Bereiche an den Schrauben, die eine sichere Verbindung mit dem Schutzleiter bewirken würden.Alles im allen trotzdem ein gutes Gerät. Kaufempfehlung.Nachtrag: Jetzt, nach 4 Monaten geht die Fernsteuerung über SCPI plötzlich nicht mehr. Schade, weil ich das tatsächlich benötige und auch eine kleine App dafür geschrieben habe. Habe an Owon gemailt, mal sehen, ob die helfen wollen & können. Die 4 Sterne bleiben erstmal..

La fuente está en general muy bien. El multimetro incorporado ahorra sitio en la mesa de trabajo. Es algo lento midiendo pero tiene una precisión aceptable. La salida presenta algo de ruido, como es habitual en las fuentes de este rango de precios, pero es usable en la mayoría de las aplicaciones comunes. Algo que he notado es que había una derivación de algunos milivoltios en la salida respecto al voltaje fijado. Pues aunque no aparece en el manual, existe un menú de calibración donde se puede afinar a la perfección. Se accede pulsando la secuencia: display - memory - rotary knob - voltage - current. Se deben ajustar todos los pasos de voltaje, tanto el valor de salida (primer campo) como el valor leído (segundo campo) utilizando un buen multimetro a la salida. Lo mismo se puede hacer con la corriente.

Schönes kompaktes Gerät. Alles funktioniert recht gut. Das einzige Mangel ist , dass es auf Chinesisch eingestellt ist.
