Mats are Gone, Gorgeous Kitty is Gorgeous Once Again
I have been ill for a while, and hadn't been brushing my super-long-haired boy's coat. I didn't realize just how quickly it would mat up! He wound up with several large mats on his back by his tail.He is an extremely sensitive cat, and me teasing these knots out with a comb wasn't going to happen. If I even accidentally tugged at his fur a little too hard he pitched a fit and took himself off to some corner to get over his fury. So I had to work in short sessions, tackling a little at a time over the course of a few days.In between copious amounts of Zoom Groom brushing on his face--which he would tell you is the only real way to be brushed--, I would slip one of these cutters down and work on a mat. These cutters were easy to hold, sharp enough to work very quickly, and safe enough that I knew even if Mr. Sensitive flew off in a rage, neither of us would get hurt.I know they're not necessarily meant to be used this way, but they also worked to cut out a couple smaller mats completely once he and I had conferred and made the decision that he wasn't going to tolerate another thirty seconds. I just turned the cutter perpendicular to the hair direction instead of parallel and slid the blade across close to the skin, and in a flash the pesky mats were gone. Now that I'm doing a little better and his beautiful coat is somewhat back under control, I've found a couple knots starting to form because he's still not getting brushed as often as he normally would be. It's been easy to use one of these the correct way and cut apart the knot while saving most of the hair.I like that there are five, so if one gets dull it's no big deal to grab a new one. And for the price, you can't beat that. These do what they're supposed to do, and I'm so glad they do! My gorgeous boy is back to gorgeous and can spend his time admiring himself in the mirror once again, while I know that I have insurance against any knots that dare to show up.

This product is everything it says it is
These things are amazing! My cat gets a lot of mats and I was always afraid of using scissors and cutting him. With these you don't have to worry, the blade doesn't come anywhere near their skin. I definitely would recommend these to anyone who's animals have problems with matting fur.

Tool isn’t design to protect cat’s skin
It is effective at removing matted fur, but it’s way too easy it accidentally cut their skin because the skin is often pulled up into a mat. I wouldn’t use it on anything but the smallest and easiest to remove of mats, so really not worth it

Works very well, but be very careful
Very efficient for taking knots out of the cats hair- however be very careful. I took down one star because of safety issues. This blade is wide open and the first thing I did was slice my finger and I’m usually very careful. I would advise you putting on gloves when you use these to do that cat hair because cats move and your finger gets on that wide open blade-would advise children not use these.

Get small tangled hair quickly
Works well with our Persian cat to remove small tangles. They are very sharp and should only be used by adults. I like the technique and design. Not sure I needed the entire package but I was able to gift one to our neighbor.Good quality and usage for the price

Wonderful to have with fussy long haired cats
This is the best invention since sliced bread! Truly. My cat loves pets but not being picked up, or “handled”. She has long hair & developed some fur mats. Using this tool it took only seconds to remove them while i was petting her. She literally didn’t notice. I am thrilled!

Okay For Small Mats
You get a decent amount for the price. However, it struggled to get through my cats thicker fur mats.

Not worth it unless you're opening envelopes.
This is a letter opener. I feel dumb for buying it.I thought it would help with a feisty new foster cat who's got a couple mats at her hips the size of big marshmallows.I hoped it would be safer than scissors if she thrashed suddenly. But nope. The razor isn't sharp enough to cut hair without pulling. And it gets bogged down very easily. Also it's pointy enough you might accidentally puncture skin if your cat's not holding still. My crappy dollar store safety scissors worked better. Maybe it would be different in smaller mats or a cat with more trust and patience.
