Nikwax TECH WASH and TX DIRECT Twin Pack, Technical Cleaner and Wash-In Waterproofer for Waterproof Clothing, Cleans, Waterproofs, Revitalizes Breathability, 2x 1L

When you have spent good money on buying garments with good, effective waterproofing, the last thing you want to do is ruin them by washing them inappropriately. Washing with conventional detergents will soon diminish the ability of your waterproof clothing to do the job they were designed for. I have been using these Nikwax products for years now and I have no hesitation in recommending them. They are simple to use, but effective. * I always start by running my washing machine through a short wash cycle while it is empty. This is to make sure that any residual, conventional detergent has been rinsed out of the system. * Use Nikwax Tech Wash first. You can wash up to two items in one load. The bottle tells you how much to use depending on weather you are in a hard or soft water area. * After the wash cycle has been completed, you use the TX Direct Wash-In. Again you can wash up to two items at a time, but remember to use 100ml of the solution per item. * Once this second cycle has completed, the garments can either be hung up to dry, or they can be dried on a low setting in the tumble drier, if the product care label states that the items are suitable for this. That is all there is to it! Not only are your clothes clean and fresh again, but this really does help to maintain and maximise the waterproof and breathable qualities that you bought them for. It is definitely worthwhile investing in this product and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Nikwax is my absolute go to when it comes to washing technical clothing and putting back in the water repellence. When I take out the washing machine I have an old towel at the ready as with the waterproofing one the water will drip off the fabric and I also put it under whatever I have washed as it will drip. Don't let that put you off it is the best stuff I have found for doing an amazing job at keeping things in top condition and waterproof!

Living in the UK means having a waterproof (or umbrella or just get wet!). Depending of how much you use your waterproofs depends how often you need to reproof it. Once your water proof starts getting saturate and not beading water off, now is the time to reproof. I found this helps keep that outer shell from letting water through and just slipping off. I use this with Gore Tex and Nikwax garments and find it helps keep it dry inside. I've used this wash and reproofing agents for a number of years and I find it helps also prolong the life of the jacket / trousers. Simple to use, wash with Tech Wash and then wash with TX Direct (make sure your machine has no old detergents in it from prior wash, I usually do a rinse cycle to clean out), Leave to air dry and that's it.

It does add waterproofness but quite smelly. The result is better than not treated but worse than the original factory result

I use this combo regularly to keep my GoreTex jackets clean and working well. I was pleasantly surprised just how well this cleans, I had a big muddy mark on my jacket from a fall and it came right out with the Tech Wash.

Better value than the small bottles because when you have little ones you're constantly washing and reproofing! Who doesn't like rolling in mud and snow???

Helped revive a Decathlon waterproof jacket which was wetting out. I had machine washed it several times and was ignorant to the effect on the jacket's WP properties. One wash with the tech wash and the waterproofing and it has dramatically improved the jacket which is around 3 years old. Will only wash outdoor jackets in this from now on. Really easy to use. I used a 30degree Light 'sports' wash around the 70min mark per cycle, for both products. Worked like a charm. Absolutely recommend it.

Confezione completa di detergente ed impermabilizzante, si usa in lavatrice (o anche a mano) e restituisce impermeabilità ai capi. Il detergente rimuove efficacemente odori e sporco, ma non riesce a togliere completamente le macchie più ostinate come per esempio quelle di grasso. Conviene rimuovere le macchie prima del trattamento. Su capi che già erano impermeabili, si ottengono buoni risultati ed il capo, una volta ben asciutto, terrà l'acqua come quando era nuovo. Su capi che non erano impermabili, i risultati dipendono dalla trama del tessuto. Ho lavato le fodere dei sedili chiari della mia auto, perché non sopportavo più le macchie dovute alla pioggia: risultato il tessuto in se è rimasto impermeabile (niente più macchie finalmente), ma ovviamente la trama non fitta del tessuto fa passare comunque l'acqua dopo qualche secondo. Le indicazioni consigliano di trattare pochi capi alla volta, in modo che si possano muovere liberamente nel cestello. Le istruzioni sono solo in inglese, ma sono di facile comprensione. Consigliato.

Tras más de 10 años sin lavar la chaqueta de la moto, por miedo a dañar el Gor-Tex, he probado los productos de limpieza y recuperación del Gore-Tex y el resultado es magnífico. La chaqueta está limpia y no me mojo con el agua de la lluvia. Antes de lavarla, la chaqueta no el agua de la lluvia.
