Parrots of the World: A Field Guide (Helm Field Guides) Paperback – 14 Oct. 2010

Certainly one of the best books in the market on this subject. It is handy enough to be carried in a medium travel bag. It is reasonably updated to show the population status of the birds at the current time. Definitely recommended to every parrot lover.

This book has beautiful illustrations and has lots of detail about each and every parrot.I saw all the great reviews about this book so I had to buy it and I was not disappointed with my purchase :)

Arrived on time & as expected

This book contains a lot of content, and nothing else can really be said which hasn't been already in another review here.You can learn a lot about a variety of parrot species, such as population distribution, sexual dimorphism of species in which it occurs, and there physical appearance. Something about there physiology and behaviour throughout would have been an improvement, even if only in minor detail.Admittedly, , I would have liked phots of actual parrots over the drawings provided, although they do have great detail, its just personal preference.Being as I actually study conservation with a focus on parrots, I know stuff about some species that, if put in this book would have made it even more interesting.Overall its a very good book, with a large amount of content, and is exceptional for parrot identification, and if your interested in parrots I would recommend to buy it, but if you want more depth on individual species, books about other aspects of parrots (physiology, behaviour, natural history etc.) would have to come from another source.
