Four-and-a-half stars
I have sleep apnea. I've also tried everything. Used a CPAP for over 15 years, lost all my extra weight, but the apnea would improve but never go away. I also snore, sometimes with the CPAP.My dentist recently made an appliance that held my lower jaw out (TAP). This worked great - no apnea, almost no snoring - until I developed TMJ and with it a form of "top-shelf vertigo". Lots of fun.Simply out of desperation - I hate the CPAP - I had read about these tongue devices and saw them online for over $100.When I saw this on Amazon for under $20, I did a little research. They're all basically the same, but I chose this because the reviews were largely better. I've been using it over 10 days now.The first day was tough - I put my tongue in way too far. I awoke to a tongue that was swollen at the tip and felt like it had been burned. That said, I slept through the night and didn't make a peep. The next few nights were similar - I experimented with how little I could fit my tongue into the device and still achieve enough suction to hold, while also not snoring. Once or twice it actually fell out - It's a fairly natural reaction to want to take something out of your mouth, so I may have helped that along in my sleep. It's now over a week. I wake mostly rested. My wife says I snore only for a few minutes - very softly - at about the same time each morning. I wake to a tongue that has a swollen tip that makes it a little hard to talk, but the swelling goes down after about 20-30 minutes. I am not a fan of feeling like I'm wearing a bippy to sleep, but it sure beats the alternatives. So far so good. The strangest feeling is that after a few days I don't feel like my tongue is sticking out that far, although on those nights when I clench my jaw I realize that it clearly is.Most of these devices say they last about a year. For the price, I'll probably replace it quarterly. I do chew a little in my sleep but the silicone mostly protects my tongue from biting. It's amazing how strong the suction really is, when it's put on correctly, you know it. It can sometimes take a minute in the morning to break the seal and take it off, but that also helps keep it on at night.10 days isn't a real trial, so perhaps I'll revisit the review in a year if I'm still using it. It definitely takes at least a week to get used to, during which time you may want to give up. Stick with it.1 month update:Been using it for a month now. Actually bought another because although still good, the thing does start to look worn out. I've used it every night and have to say I sleep better/deeper/more soundly and restfully than I can remember in perhaps decades. For under $20, I honestly don't mind replacing them every month, whether or not they need to be replaced. My tongue still feels weird in the morning - swollen at the tip - and talking is tough for about ten minutes, but that is temporary and then everything is back to normal.

The 15-20 minutes of soreness is worth it so she can get a better nights sleep
My girlfriend complained of my snoring for a long time. I had tried nose strips and a mouth guard that moved my lower jaw forward. The mouth guard worked but my jaw would be sore for 10-12 hours the next day. This thing looks silly but it does stop my snoring. My tongue does feel a little sore/numb when I wake up but it goes away after 15-20 minutes. The 15-20 minutes of soreness is worth it so she can get a better nights sleep.

Amazing, it works!
I snore, that is a fact. I’ve tried everything, even a tongue device that didn’t worked. This one was my last try. And you know what? It works! My wife said that I am not snoring anymore. It’s design is different from the one that I bought in the past. So that is way it solve my problem and I am sleeping better. Happy wife, happy life!

simple and inexpensive help for apnea
I purchased this little tongue retaining device to help relieve my OSA symptoms. I didn't really expect too much but figured it was less stressful for me than using my cpap. I had tried every mask they had to offer me and honestly none of them worked. I spent most of the night adjusting whichever mask I was using and was getting less sleep than just using nothing at all. This tongue device is simple to use and easy to clean. It does take a little time to get used to it and also to learn how much suction is just right for you so you can comfortable fall asleep. I also keep a small hand towel on my pillow for minor drooling which is very short-term so no big deal with that. Less stress equals better sleep. BTW other websites are selling this item for quite a bit more money.

Works really really works!
No pain or soreness. I am NOT getting anything for this review. It works. No snoring what so ever.Directions: Dont put your tongue that far into it. Just barely in. Relax your tongue after insertion and that is enough suction to hold it.It doesn’t have directions so I wasn’t sure I did it right. I didn’t want so much suction that my tongue would hurt the next day.It came out once but thats because I didnt put my tongue in right.Just put your tongue far enough in so it has full contact with the sides of the flexible plastic. If it stays in, that is far enough. Anymore and the suction will be too strong. You will need to experiment with it to get it right. Too much suction would be painful the next day. Guess I aced it the first night. My jaw feels slightly odd but no pain of soreness.Teeth feel fine. The other style I used made my teeth and jaw hurt the next morning. I couldnt chew for an hour. This one is far better and I think I will get used to it being in my mouth in another night or two. I’m 5’2” so maybe its a tongue size thing?Try it. I hope it works for you!

A Snoring Solution
I am schedule for a sleep study next week but I was told about this item in advance. It took a few days to get use to it. If you snore or know someone who does, this is a solution. I told my daughter "don't delay, buy your husband one today" for your mother says that "quiet is a delight."
