Great product; battery door could be better. It's very difficult to remove, very easy to break or lose or incorrectly install.

TimeCode is a game changer

Overall the unit functions as expected and I like the user interface and display. The biggest issue I have is with the case, which is made from thin plastic with a soft rubbery overmold that I know from experience won't last very long. The battery compartment door is made from extremely thin and fragile plastic with very tiny barb-type fasteners that I fear I'll break every time I open the battery door. This is an issue because I change batteries on the unit every day. The battery compartment itself is a bit small to accept AA rechargeable batteries. The first time I inserted some Eneloop AAs I broke one of the spring tabs in one of the battery bays. The bay now only accepts the larger rechargeable batteries rather than standard alkalines. I'd like to see the following changes to this unit: A much more robust case design, preferably milled from aluminum or some other light metal. A larger battery compartment capable of accepting slightly larger rechargeable batteries. An improved battery door that limits the potential for damage to the door or the case.

I am often a one man band on shoots and desperately needed a set it and forget it solution. This is that option, not to mention one of the best sounding mics I have ever owned! Will be buying more of these!

Audio Quality The audio quality has exceeded my expectations. With both 24-bit and 32-bit float recording options, I can capture clear audio without worrying about distortion or clipping, even in unpredictable environments. The 32-bit float format is especially useful for dynamic audio recording, making it reliable for various projects. Timecode and Remote Control I’ve found the wireless timecode syncing with Deity's TC-1 generator boxes incredibly helpful. It ensures my recordings stay perfectly in sync, which is essential for professional use. The Sidus Audio app also allows for remote control, and I’ve enjoyed being able to adjust settings from up to 250 feet away, saving me time and effort during shoots. Battery Life and Power Options The battery life has been impressive, lasting nearly 30 hours on just two AA batteries. This has been great for long sessions without needing to stop and replace batteries. I also like the USB-C output, which lets me use it as an audio interface when I want to record directly to my computer. Accessories The included accessories are really useful. It comes with a belt-clip holster, a Deity W.Lav Pro microphone, a 32GB microSDHC card, a USB-C coiled cable, and a USB-C to USB 3 adapter. The kit was ready to use right out of the box, which saved me from needing to buy additional gear. Performance The PR-2 has been reliable and easy to use. I’ve appreciated the headphone output for live monitoring, and the secure mic input keeps everything steady during recording. The only drawback for me is the lack of a rechargeable battery, but the long battery life makes up for it. My only other concern is the belt clip, which feels like it might not hold up with heavy use. Value for Money For the price, this recorder is well worth it. The combination of features, like 32-bit float recording and timecode syncing, along with its ease of use, make it a great investment. If you’re looking for a versatile and dependable recorder, I’d definitely recommend it. The belt clip could be improved, but overall, this device offers fantastic value.

This is a pretty great small and lightweight 2-channel recorder with a solid feel and has highly responsive controls. It offers both mic- and line-in selection at the same input levels, with the mic option allowing 5V power to the mics, which will only power certain models of microphones. The gain range is from -12 to +36 dB, and it operates in either 24 bit or 32-bit float in mono mode and exclusively 24-bit in stereo mode. My experience with this audio recorder was very good. It was not overly complicated to learn, was highly responsive, and produced excellent recordings. It's not a top-of-the-line unit with all the bells and whistles, but for it's class, it's a pretty great 2-channel unit for portable recording with a 5V mic at a fair price. It even comes with batteries and a 32GB card, which is a great bonus to be able to have it fully operational straight out of the box.

This little thing has it all and I am delighted with the quality. I have been using wireless audio as I was convinced it was good enough. I was wrong. It is ridiculously high quality and has features that are taking my videography to a new level. I am, by all measures, a rank amateur videographer. I make low budget YouTube videos so haven't worried much about audio. As long as things are mastered remotely well I am happy. With this thing I am now turning into an audio nerd. Syncing audio is supremely easy. With the app I was able to sync the time up in seconds and didn't have to think about it for the rest of the shoot. I haven't all of the stereo features, but they seem amazing. I am excited to get this thing with some alone time to shoot some stereo audio. I'm also excited with some of the features that are coming. There is a downside. I have one and I know I'm going to need another, possibly two more. This is going ti get expensive, but I am converted. I'm not a full audiophile, but recognize there was a lot to improve on in my old setup. Highly recommended if it is in your budget and you could stand to gain from improved audio. If you're still just messing around, maybe work on your technique before making this kind of investment. When you do, you won't regret it.
