Great Product, Easy to Install, Highly Recommend for the Price
I was skeptical, but for the price, why not? Bought the 6" and it fit into my gutter like a dream without tacking or screws - it fit easily beneath my shingling and under the edge of my gutter. It's been in place for a month, and we've had two serious storms with very high winds - the mesh is still in place. Easy to cut to size with scissors, and I did not find that it was necessary to roll out the mesh the night before as other reviewers suggested. It's pretty pliable (not like metal mesh), yet sturdy, and the roll is small enough that I was able to roll from one end, put it into place and continue along the gutter in that manner until I'd covered the entire gutter. So far, no tree branches or leaves clogging the downspouts, so I am thrilled. As for whether it will keep the 10,000,000 banyan tree leaves from filling/clogging my gutters next year remains to be seen; but so far so good. Well worth the meager price to give it a go before going with a much more expensive solution.

Worth a Try
I didn't want to spend a ton of money on gutter guards, so I thought I would try this. Actually, it works quite well, for how long is the question. I have 2 corners of the house where my trees dump a ton of leaves into the gutter. I installed this in those areas without too much difficulty. It is best to start on one end and measure down the gutter to where your gutter supports are and cut a small notch where needed at each one. I only needed to cut one notch on the front end of the gutter. As you start to install the guard, squeeze with both hands to make it into a half moon and then push it down into the gutter with both hand as you move down the gutter. Keep it in the "humped shape" pushing it down and position it evenly. You can use a small screwdriver to poke in a hole and lift up and adjust the plastic to further shape the hump if needed to a more even shape. Should be rounded and secure just above level of the gutter. You can cut it into sections and do a section at a time or continue down the gutter without cutting as you move your ladder. Pretty sure it will do the job of preventing leaves from getting in the gutter. Will see over time if it stays in place, although I don't see why it wouldn't. If I wanted to spend the money, I would buy square mesh fencing which would do the same thing, although much stiffer and sturdier to stay in place and have longevity. But overall, for the price of this it is worth a try.

There are two very different versions of this product (UPDATED)
Original Review Summary: - I don't think there is really a 5" version available from this page - Either the material has changed or there are two products being delivered from this page (one stiffer, larger opening; the other more flexible, smaller mesh). I much prefer the stiffer version. - It's really cheap compared to a permanent / real gutter helmet products, so still much better than nothing Details: Last August I ordered a roll of 6" when they were really cheap ($2) to try it out. I tried it and was impressed so in December I ordered 4 more and was again pleased with how easily it installed and stood firm in my gutters. I don't have it attached in any way other than the springiness of the material held by friction within the gutter. About a month ago we had a day of very high winds and I expected to see sections blown 3 houses away, but none of them budged. I had one more section of gutter with a bit more shingle overhang so I ordered the 5" version last week to finish off the last gutter. Here's where things go sideways... I received a 6" roll which was probably a good thing since the material now seems much thinner / narrower gauge so less "spring" to hold in the gutter, and mesh is finer (more openings per square unit). I installed it just like I did the other rolls but it clearly lacks the built in resistance to flex that is holding the other sections tight. It just sort of lies there. I will wait and see but I wouldn't be surprised it comes out in a good gust and I'll need to secure it somehow. I can't say for sure what the model number was on what I previously ordered, but my history says it was VX620 the same as this. It was for sure a Frost King brand. See photos that show the difference in the mesh and how it lays, and the label from my most recent purchase. Hopefully sellers can clarify which version of the product they are selling so if you want the rigid version or the floppy version you'll get what you want. UPDATE 9/2019 There are sections of this that have been up for nearly 3 years and haven't moved. We recently had a huge storm that tore down trees and buckets of rain but all gutter mesh stayed put. I've been checking my gutters with a cheap drone instead of getting out the big ladder and haven't been up to the highest part since installation. After the big storm I went up to look things over and the larger opening mesh was standing tall and clean but the finer mesh style was sagging and starting to get clogged. I attempted to remove it to clean and reinstall but it was rotted and tore apart. Still keeping the review as 4 stars but again there is a big difference between the larger mesh opening and smaller mesh opening materials. I'm going to look for the good stuff at the local hardware.

Stops pine needles and slows fast-moving rain from metal roofs
Living on the edge of a national forest with a "fire season", I decided to put in a metal roof. So, I got rid of the fire danger but the trade offs are snow/ice accumulation that eventually avalanches off my roof, the channels provide a fast track for pine needles to flow directly into my gutters, and really fast-moving runoff from the rain. The monsoons create so much water that the runoff from the roof used to shoot right over my pine needle caching gutters. This plastic gutter guard fixed two of my problems. It keeps the pine needles out when it isn't raining and it also breaks the water down enough to prevent it from overshooting my gutters. When it's raining, there are usually some pine needles on my roof that bind up on top of the gutter guard and my roof. I didn't like this feature at first but then I watched the wet-from-rain needles dam up the rainwater which gave the gutters time to take the water. I thought that I would have to clean them off but the next day, the needles dried out and the wind blew them off. These were very easy to install. I tucked one side under the lip of my gutter and bowed up the gut guard material under the overhang of my metal roof. There's a slight arch in the middle of the material that sticks up enough to stop the fast water. Installation took me 30 minutes to cover 60' of gutter on one side of my house. I haven't had them on in a winter but I'm guessing that a section will likely be damaged due to ice and snow. We'll see...
