There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man, it is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination it s an area which we call..The Twilight Zone An eclectic mix of fantasy and sci-fi created by the Legendary Rod Serling explore the depths of the unknown in this complete collection of episodes from the Twilight Zone. Funny at times, heartbreaking at others, the Twilight Zone was one of the most unique and inventive television shows ever created. For the very first time all 5 seasons of the original classic cult TV series have been released in one amazing box set collection. Special Features Includes: Rare unofficial pilot episode, The Time Element Original unaired pilot version of Where is Everybody? with Rod Serling s network pitch Numerous audio commentaries Numerous interviews Rod Serling audio lectures Promos for next week s show Radio Dramas Sponsor Billboards Isolated music scores and much more!REGION B/2 BLURAY Review: A great show which, 50 years on, still beats most of what's made for TV today - I'm actually old enough to remember when this show was first aired in the UK in the early 60s. I loved it. This blu-ray box set, however, was bought for my 20-something daughter who is, like me, a sci-fi/fantasy nut and had been reading about The Twilight Zone online. We've been watching it with my 20-something son and all three of us are enjoying it. The writing, often by show creator, Rod Serling, still comes across as wittier and more intelligent than most TV shows before or since. There's a good mix of straight sci-fi and fantasy, most stories falling into the latter category. One of the remarkable things about the show is the way it tackles subjects most shows avoided, like prejudice, Communist paranoia and nuclear war. Way ahead of its time. On the subject of prejudice, the use of black actors also seems well ahead of its time. Then there's the added fun of spotting early guest appearances by future mega-stars like Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Ron Howard, Lee Marvin, Vera Miles, Warren Oates, Robert Redford and Burt Reynolds, to name but a few. Loads of familiar faces from other 60s TV shows pop up too, including most of the casts of Star Trek and Batman. Even our very own Patrick McNee (John Steed in The Avengers) shows up. Some great old-timers are in evidence too, most poignantly, the legendary Buster Keaton, in a gorgeously-produced episode that allows him to relive a little of his silent screen super-stardom. Nostalgia abounds, but this show is much more than a nostalgia trip and a lot of quality acting. As said, it has tight, engaging story-telling from Serling and his fellow writers, including Richard Matheson. More than that, the black-and-white cinematography is really excellent, with sharp contrast and the picture quality crystal clear, amazingly so for a show of this vintage. Kudos to the clean-up team. The restored sound also comes across as clearly as any present-day production. There are lots of interesting extras too, including masses of cast and crew interviews, commentary tracks and much more. All in all this box set is an absolute treat for anyone who likes classic sci-fi and fantasy. The only thing that feels oddly old-fashioned about it is that, when Rod Serling, who introduces each story, returns at the end to do his trailer for next week's episode, he sometimes goes into a cigarette commercial. At the time, of course, this was perfectly fine, but looked at now, it comes across as just plain weird! Review: When telly was great! - This is a fantastic box set of one of the greatest TV series ever made brings back really great memories of when I watched it many years ago, if you want to see a classic buy!

Incredible box set!
I'm not sure this really needs another all-singing review but I'll give my voice to it anyway! The fact that this is all 156 TV episodes and includes almost 100 Radio Drama adaptations as bonus material is just insane value. The picture and audio quality is top-notch and looks like it was filmed yesterday. The entire set seems to have been given a thoughtful remastering job and the wonderful lighting of the original is made to pop in a gorgeous way, highlighting the contrasts in the black and white presentation. If I was to have one complaint it would be that I do sort of just wish they gave you an extra disc or two of bonus features rather than integrating them with the different series and episodes, but though that might suit me, I guess someone else would complain that they weren't integrated, so I get it's just my preference there. This is an amazing boxset and I wouldn't feel robbed if it was double the price. Brilliant!

Enter the twilight zone
Some great episodes, watched it on cable years ago late night and was freaked out at some of the oddities the episodes bring. The dvd collection were superb, no marks or scratches, bought this and the 80s revival dvd.

There are so many realities!!
Amazing BD version of this monumental work, with a lot of bonus features. Despite the many attempts to remake it, this original version has never been surpassed. These most enjoyable gems of the early 60s are presented in the usual style of the TV production of those times: black-and-white, a family, a country road, city life, office life; but, all of a sudden, the characters slid into another dymension. My favourite are: A stop at Willoughby, The Hitch-hiker, Walking Distance, The Bewitchin pool. Actually, what we have here is a lesson of E.S.P. (I didn't say "paranormal", because there is nothing more normal than the paranormal) many years before this was more widely known. I perceive these script writers also as explorers, scientists, people whose aim was to divulge, reveal, polularize a whole body of knowledge unknown to many in those days, presented in most enjoyable TV short movies. And behind this pleasant facade there is also a suspiciousness of the power that controls our daily lives in terms of what we must do, enjoy and believe. A wide spectrum of phenomena is shown: several life dymensions, Ufos, parallel worlds, trips back to the past, trips to the future, mind reading, glimpses of the great beyond, dead people who are very much alive and a lot more. No doubt a courageous attempt, back then, and the only possible way to release them on tv was to admit that they took place in that Twilight Zone of the Imagination, that in reality conveyed A LUMINOUS SUNRISE OF AWAKENING TO THE MANY HORIZONS OF KNOWLEDGE. GREAT JOB!!!

Surprisingly good.A work of art.
First off,I’ve only watched the first few episodes of the first series. I’m impressed how good it is so far.Technically it has truly Excellent picture and sound quality. The episodes themselves are quite short yet each one feels like a mini movie, with a compelling story and skilfully directed. What strikes me is how fresh and unique they seem, you know each one was made with great love and attention to detail. Each viewing is a special experience which I look I look forward to watching with my girlfriend who also loves it as much as I do.I hope the quality continues throughout,we’ll see. I love the next episode preview at the end of each episode by the creator Rod Serling, always puts a smile on my face. In conclusion, although I’ve only watched a fraction of it so far, this is a class act - T.V.at its finest.

There are so many likeable points about the original "The Twilight Zone" TV series, it's hard to know where to start! Here are a few of the most notable: The creativity: "The Twilight Zone" was truly ahead of its time when it premiered in the 1950s. The show's creator, Rod Serling, had a boundless imagination and an ability to create compelling stories with surprising twists and turns. The result was a show that was unlike anything else on TV at the time, and remains unique to this day. The variety: Each episode of "The Twilight Zone" was a self-contained story, so you never knew what you were going to get from week to week. Some episodes were sci-fi, some were horror, and some were more psychological in nature. This variety kept the show fresh and exciting, and made it accessible to a wide range of viewers. The cast: "The Twilight Zone" featured a number of talented actors, many of whom went on to become household names. From William Shatner to Burgess Meredith to Jack Klugman, the show featured a who's who of Hollywood talent. The themes: While the stories on "The Twilight Zone" were often fantastical, they were almost always grounded in real-world themes and issues. The show tackled topics like racism, war, and nuclear proliferation, making it a thought-provoking and socially relevant series. The legacy: Even though the original series only ran for five seasons, its impact on popular culture is immeasurable. "The Twilight Zone" has been referenced and parodied in countless TV shows, movies, and books over the years, and remains a beloved and iconic piece of American television history.

This Blu-ray set is a must-have for any fan of classic television or thoughtful storytelling. The Twilight Zone remains one of the most iconic and genre-defining series of all time, and this complete collection does it justice. The packaging is well put together, and the disc organization is clean and intuitive, making it easy to jump into any episode. So far, playback has been smooth with no issues across any of the discs I've watched. The picture quality is also surprisingly sharp for a show from this era—restored in a way that keeps the original feel but brings out a lot of detail you wouldn’t see in broadcast or DVD versions. Whether you're rewatching old favorites or discovering Rod Serling’s masterwork for the first time, this set delivers a faithful and enjoyable experience for fans of sci-fi, suspense, and social commentary.
