Momentary Power Foot Switch

I connected this foot switch to my radial arm saw for when I am making repetitive cuts or cutting dadoes. The only thing I would have like to see would be a weighted base to stay where it is placed on the floor. Mounting it on a heavy piece of wood kept it where I wanted it, but also raised it to an awkward height.

I ordered a momentary foot operated switch but they sent a step ON step OFFI can use it but it was not as represented

#1...it's very light and the curly plastic cord wouldn't allow it to lay flat on the floor. I took it apart and bolted it to a small steel plate. Problem solved.#2...I found that a couple of my (larger) 3 prong plugs...when plugged in to the unit..wouldn't allow the pedal to fully rotate closed (and operate)...so I again took it apart and ground a small radius in the plastic where the cover contacted the oversized plug. Again...problem solved.It only took me a few minutes to get this the way I like it. Great pedal for the price... and the electronics work perfectly. I'm really happy with it!

The switch works great specially when screwed down to a piece of scrap wood. The thing I like least is the power cord, it is too stiff and could use two to three more feet added on. The flexible cord would be a great benefit. Even without the extra footage. I have several of these and my elders still works wonderfully.

I have an old Grizzly 10" table saw and had found it very hazardous having to reach below to turn it off after a cut so I wanted to try this foot switch to be able to keep my hands in place until the blade stops. I was concerned that the amp load would be a problem for the switch since the startup amperage load of the saw is about 18 amps, but it works perfectly. I can now craft safely on the table saw with complete control. Thanks for a great product.

Works as advertised. The first one I had crapped out after several years. It's plastic and will wear out. Overall it's a good item but not great.
