In fact, water stored in copper ware is virtually the elixir of life. Purified, it helps to regulate digestion and cardiac orders, the basis of good health, as practiced by Ayurveda and Rishits from old Vedic times. It has been known for thousands of years that copper metal can inhibit the growth of bacteria, viruses and fungi. Our Scriptures recommend drinking of four glasses of water stored overnight in a copper utensil every morning. Care Tips: Clean your copper ware by hand and avoid dishwasher as the detergent can cause oxidation leading to permanent damage. Use a solution of equal quantities vinegar or lemon juice and salt diluted with some water at such times but don't use it regularly. Also avoid scratchy cleaners like steel wool. A simple, soft cleaning liquid on soap base, hot water and a soft washing cloth is best for daily use.

No cups and straws but ok bottle
I ordered 3 of these. Unfortunately 2 had manufacturing defects and dents. That said I've polished them and cleaned them and they are serving their purpose. They are not water tight (no rubber seals as you would expect from Ayurvedic products) so you must store them upright and securely. They are tarnishing quickly but that is normal for copperware.Be aware that the picture shows free cups and straws with this water bottle, it does not come with free straws and cups.

Having finally managed to remove the lid, I have been using the bottle and leaving water in it in the fridge over night too. So far so good. The bottle arrived really quickly, there's a smallish dent in one side but it's a soft metal so could probably have done with better packaging. No real complaints - once I got the lid off. :)

The bottle looks very nice. But as I received it all dirty inside, I gave it away. I was scared to drink water from it. Did not look any safe to me to do so
