Great knife
Works great! Comfortable yet very sharp and will cut through meat like it’s butter. The price is great for such a great knife to have in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend anyone have one on hand especially if they cut any kind of meats.

Very happy
Great product outstanding build quality extremely sharp handle size and grip are perfect. Good weight. The blade is a little stiff for small fish like bluegills and shell crackers, but for larger fish like Pompano sheepshead it works great.

Decent for the money
This is the new line of knives for Dexter Russell titled: Basics. Not exactly what I was expecting at first. I've become accustomed to the generous amount of steel Dexter Russell uses for the blades. This knife, however, does not have much steel. I was actually very sad at first because I've never held a Dexter Russell knife before that felt so light weight. I was really REALLY sad (almost as sad as when I found out trump was elected) when I discovered that the handle didn't have the trademark Dexter Russell branding; and that's when I noticed the Basics branding on the blade...I will say this: the knife has been up to par with other Dexter Russell knives I possess. I like that the steel they used for the blade is very high-quality. The blade has a very shiny look to it and seems to be of a very durable steel composition. The blade was decently sharp? Idid have to hone it a bit which I found quite odd given it was brand new...Upon discovering the Basics branding, I was mostly concerned the knife was no longer made here in the US of A, but thankfully, it is!Bottom line: Good filleting action. For the money, I am very pleased. When you think about it, you also can’t expect to get more steel than you do for the price point. I purchased a $26 Dexter Russell knife about six years ago and I expected this one to be of the same heft, but I paid less than half for this one, so, you get what you pay for! And I mean this in a good way!Happy slicing!

Razor sharp
Handle feels just like a victorinox fibrox, nice size for big hands. Shaving sharp out the packet.
