The Giving Tree (Slipcased Mini Edition) Hardcover – October 20, 1999

Bought this book for my granddaughter. A nice story about a tree that gave all it had to a boy that didn’t appreciate what was given to him by the tree.

This book was one of my son’s favorite books as a child, I read it so much I almost had it memorized until he learned to read. I bought this for a baby shower, we were told to bring a favorite children’s book and to leave a passage inside the cover instead of buying a card which is a great idea because I think cards are a waste of money. I paid $10.00 for this book, I bought my dad a BD card recently and it was almost $8.00 and I’m sure it’s in the trash, so buy a book instead of a card and if you are a Shel Silverstein fan, buy this book.

This is a really beautiful edition of this childhood classic. The fabric, hard slip, and indented shiny gold etching makes this book feel really special. I plan to write a letter to my little bun in the oven and keep it with the book. Wanted to buy my son his first book and I’m really happy I landed on this one.

I loved coming back to this book after being away for so long, it made me happy. Thank you for the small splinter of light that I needed for this day after so long.

A classic, with such an important message for our little ones and even the parents!

A wonderful children’s book. Much can be learned about giving from this book. One of Shel silver stones best. Love it.

The Giving Tree is such a beautiful and touching book. It’s a simple story, yet it carries a powerful message about selflessness and love. I love reading it with my kids, and it always sparks meaningful conversations about kindness and generosity.

Tragedy. This story is not sweet. It often happens between a loving parent and a taking child. Or any narcissistic person who latches onto love.
