No Backlighting - But Otherwise the Perfect Keyboard for Apple Hardware
I'm going to do a 5 star rating here - even though this board lacks backlighting which is something that is really helpful for me when I do low-light video editing. Battery consumption (if that's Apple's logic for no backlighting) can be easily managed with a simple on/off switch for the backlighting function. All that said, the fingerprint reader more than makes up for the lack of backlighting in my opinion. I use mine with a 2 monitor setup connected to a MacBook and a docking station. Lots of other reviewers have mentioned the overall quality of the board, so no need to beat that horse again as I agree with that. The other important part is the physically thin form factor which is metal, very sturdy and built to last for a long time. The metai material looks great, but also allows the board to be rigid enough to be small while retaining full keyboard space. Price seems high, but it's Apple and functions perfectly with the rest of the Apple ecosystem. I don't regret the purchase.

Smooth Typing, Reliable Touch ID, and Perfect for Productivity
The Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad is easily one of the best keyboards I’ve ever used. Typing on it feels incredibly smooth — the keys are quiet, responsive, and have just the right amount of travel. It’s comfortable for long typing sessions and makes everyday work feel faster and more enjoyable. The biggest upgrade is definitely Touch ID. It works flawlessly for unlocking the Mac, approving App Store purchases, and autofilling passwords. It’s fast, accurate, and so convenient that I can’t imagine going back to a keyboard without it. The numeric keypad is a huge bonus if you do any data entry, budgeting, spreadsheets, or shortcuts. It turns the keyboard into a real productivity tool, especially for work-from-home setups. Build quality is classic Apple — slim, lightweight, solid, and premium. The battery life is exceptional; I’ve gone weeks without needing to charge it. Pairing is instant, and it stays connected with zero lag or missed keystrokes. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem and want a reliable, comfortable, and secure keyboard, this one is absolutely worth it. The Touch ID alone feels like a game-changer, and the typing experience is excellent.

Why did I wait to replace my old apple bluetooth keyboard?
This is an amazing keyboard. I have been using variations of apple bluetooth keyboards for a number of years with my laptop and Mac mini. Now to have a full keyboard with numeric keyboard and Touch ID, this makes my connectivity and work life so much easier. I don't know why I waited so long to replace my old keyboard (which still requires a lightning cable to charge). This new model has great battery life. Works with my MacBook Pro 14" (M4) model. And it replicates the look and feel of my current MBP keyboard. Definitely worth getting!

Apple Magic keyboard is a must buy.
The Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID is a fantastic upgrade to any Mac setup. Its sleek, minimalist design fits perfectly on any desk, with a slim profile that still feels solid and premium. The typing experience is outstanding—keys are well-spaced, quiet, and offer a satisfying amount of travel, making long typing sessions comfortable and enjoyable. Connectivity is effortless; it pairs instantly with your Mac and maintains a rock-solid connection without any hiccups. The addition of Touch ID is a game-changer, allowing for quick, secure logins and purchases without breaking your workflow. Battery life is another highlight—lasting weeks on a single charge, it’s incredibly convenient and low-maintenance. Overall, the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID delivers on style, performance, and practicality. It’s a perfect example of Apple blending beautiful design with thoughtful functionality.

best keyboard ever
it's particularly useful; to have a fingerprint reader built into the keyboard. Nice color, looks great. Apple products, you know, good quality!

Magic Keyboard
Its Apple, so it's beautifully made and seems to be the product I've come to expect of everything I purchase from Apple. Unfortunately, I'm having issues getting my Touch ID to work? I hope that it is just a set up issue and not something wrong with device! Remains to be seen. Other then that don't hesitate if you are Apple fan and want the typing feel and travel you're used to with Apples keyboards? Go for it...

Touch ID not worth the extra price
I have the smaller Magic Keyboard. Got this keyboard on sale. Was always a fan of the 10 key numeric keypads on all keyboards, but was really excited about the Touch ID fingerprint reader functionality. As any Apple branded keyboard it functions and performs as expected. However the Touch ID fingerprint didn’t work as advertised. A selling point for the Touch ID was to reduce the amount of times you had to enter your password. But if you’re cold starting up your Mac Mini from off, you still need to always enter a password before you can even have the option to use Touch ID. Had I known this, I would have bought the Magic Keyboard WITHOUT Touch ID and saved money. But since it was on sale I didn’t feel as bad. In my opinion the Touch ID doesn’t provide much additional value, so if you don’t enter your password very often. Bottom line if you want to splurge or have some extra money lying around, buy this. If not, get the less expensive model. You’re not missing out much.

The Magic Keyboard is a full size Apple keyboard. It is light yet sturdy and looks and feels great. I really like the way the keys feel and the lower profile of the keys themselves. I like it way better than my Logitech MX Keys. The finger print sensor is awesome. One thing to note is that this one is NOT backlit if that's an issue for you. It's not an issue for me as I work in a lit environment and prefer the longer battery life.

What can I say, it’s an apple product, so it works perfectly with my Apple laptop. Plug-in play no issues whatsoever. Highly recommend it.

Apple products are expensive but work well together. I have gotten use to having a numeric keypad since the late 1980’s and having the fingerprint thing is great

I bought this one because the black model the paint fell off after only 6 months and Apple claims is wear and tear. I hope this one lasts much longer as it is a very expensive keyboard
