clearly the 2 biggest available sizes 26” and 30” come with shoulder straps and side straps. smaller than that (20” and smaller) do not come with straps.

What would you do with sockets?

This bag has several pockets both interior and exterior for holding a plethora of tools. Several hand tools such as (Pliers, Screw drivers, nut drivers, crescent wrenches and smaller power tools. etc.) can be stored in this bag! If you have a bunch of sockets, I would suggest getting smaller zippered bags (ToughBuilt Fastener Bag - Heavy Duty Mesh Window, Hanging Grommets - 3 Pack) to be placed inside this bag for sockets or loose hardware. This way you have what you need and they are not all over the bottom of the bag. Organization is key for efficiency and less frustration so as to not be fumbling through the bag to find what you need.

Does this bag come with a lock?

NO it does not, but you can buy a lock at almost any hardware store.
