Excellent! Bravo!
I thought this little aquarium would be a cute way to jazz up my otherwise boring office and I was right. I didn't want real fish because I didn't want to be responsible for cleaning the tank and frankly, because I've always thought really small fish tanks (a gallon or less) were hard to keep and not really a healthy environment for fish. However my little plastic fish seem to enjoy their little world as they swim about. This little office doodad gets lots of attention and it's a great conversation starter. The fish swim around using the motion of the motor-blown water. It's incredibly silent and the only sounds I ever hear is the occasional 'clink' of one of the plastic fish as it bangs against the side of the tank. However, it's not very loud and you probably won't notice it in an average office environment or bedroom. The fish are moderately detailed and their tails are hinged to simulate swimming, though I've never actually seem the tails move. The 3 LED lights and the decorative backsplash are nice touches that make the aquarium seem more realistic. One thing to note is that the listed dimensions are wrong. The correct dimensions are 7L by 4H by 2.5D, which is considerably smaller than the description states. I have no idea why they exaggerate as the product is nice and should sell on its own merits. I want to emphasize that this is not your average cheap Chinese-made toy. The plastic is thick, the edges are smooth and the motor runs very quietly. I bought two of them and both were excellently made; right down to the three included fish.Try to resist the temptation of setting up this aquarium without reading the directions or you'll find yourself cursing like a wounded pirate because the aquarium doesn't work (I'm speaking from first-hand experience here). If you set it up correctly per the directions, you'll soon be enjoying this awesome little 'toy.' You may even find yourself naming your fish like I did. LOL. These make great gifts and I highly recommend to anyone who wishes to jazz up their office or cubicle.

Not just for the kiddos.
My grandson is in love with Nemo, so I got this for him, and he really thinks it is Nemo. It's well made and easy to assemble. Perfect nightlight for a child's room. It honestly looks like real fish. It's also the perfect size for a little ones "aquarium." I loved it so much I bought one for myself. I highly recommend this little piece of love.

Didn't work
Now I understand why there were so many used ones in stock. Mine didn't work at all, even after putting in batteries and using the wire provided to plug it in. Honestly it's not worth the price at all. It's really small as well.Plus I know it's a safety feature to have it shut off automatically after 4 hours, but I was hoping it would stay on as long as it was plugged in. We bought this to keep our cat occupied while we're away between times where someone comes to feed him. Doesn't serve much of a purpose for us, but some might like that it shuts off after a while. Also it's super easy for water to get into the board where the LEDs are soldered into it, not a great design tbh.

Perfect solution for our 3yo
Perfect solution for our 3yo! We were trying to phase out a "fish tank soother" that hung on the side of her old crib. My hubby was going to punch that "soother" if he heard it singing in the middle of the night one more time or if he had to buy anymore C batteries. So, we were able to tell her this Lightahead fish tank was her new "big girl" fish tank. We got the mini and it's such a cute size--not too big, not too small. It couldn't have gone over better! She had so much fun helping to set it up. We used tap water and a couple drops of dish soap. It comes with two orange clown fish and a blue fish--instantly they were Nemo, Marlin and Dory from Finding Nemo to her, which was an unexpected added bonus! It makes for a great night light that she can still look at her books by. We love that it is silent! If you listen carefully, sometimes you can hear the fish tap the "glass," which doesn't bother us or her. She loves to watch it during the day and it doesn't seem to keep her up at all at night. We love that it plugs in (no batteries needed). It's been running 24/7 for weeks and all the fish are still swimming great. The motor does a great job creating a current. The fish use the whole tank and turn around and bump each other; it's dynamic and interesting. At first we were worried we got a dud fish; he was kinda just hanging out in an upper corner. Within 20 mins, he finally got caught up in the current and acts just like the others. There aren't any visible bubbles in ours. No biggie. No leaks. The hole for the water and fish is rather small and has a nice stopper. I think it would take a lot of shaking to cause a spill or leak. Our kiddo understood pretty quickly that it was not for holding. Highly recommend. It really is the cutest little thing...and we all get more sleep!

read size!
priced to high for the size and wish that there wasnt a 4 hour auto shutoff. we leave it plugged in for the cat but the fish quit swimming after 4 hrs. There should be a button for continual swimming as well as a 4 hour auto shutoff. but overall it is kinda cute and the cat likes it.
