Tight fit, but after working parts back and forth for a few minutes drying the existing lube, and lubricating with a dry Teflon lube, parts fit with very little friction. They slide very easily. I’d expected the “presentation box”, I’d planned to give it away as a paperweight kept in the presentation box. Actually, it comes in a simple white paper box, wrapped in a strip of plastic wrap and a plastic bag. The machined parts are amazing in their fit and finish. I’m very happy with the purchase. I’ll probably make a hardwood “presentation” box or perhaps print one. Without the box it’ll fall apart if it is lifted from the desk unless the person knows the cube. When placed on a flat surface, the cut lines pretty much disappear so it looks like a solid cube. If placed in direct sunlight, one can see the puzzle parts outline but it is subtle. When attempting to move the parts in other directions to look for gaps or play, there is none. When moved along the cuts, the parts move easily but no play. The assembled cube has a finely brushed surface. To properly assemble the cube, the surface brushed texture should match. If it doesn’t the parts are out of place. Mine will assemble in the wrong order, a tribute to the accuracy of machining. The cube is heavy and some edges are sharp, so this is not for kids. It does measure 1.5 inches on a side accurate to within 1/64”. It does not weigh the claimed 1.2 pounds, it weighs under a pound, 0.944 pounds, or 430 grams. It’s still heavy, just not quite that heavy. Truly, I’m blown away by this cube. It is exquisite. I’ve been playing with it for 2 days now. The fit of the parts is amazing.

Wasn't quite sure what to expect but was intrigued enough to purchase. I love it for sure. It is amazing how precise it is cut and how flawlessly it slides! It does take a few minutes of sliding the pieces around at first to loosen it up...then it kicks into perfection. Truly mesmerizing to play with and admire. If you like fidgets or appreciate flawless quality, you will love this, too.

Amazing , yes! Perfect? No. This cube is an incredible feat of machining technology. Comes in at 428grams/15.1 oz and 1.5 inches. Initial thoughts are impressive. As others mentioned, I had to slide each section back and forth for a few seconds to relieve the tolerances, and then it would articulate while held in the palm of my hand. There are a few imperfections I’m a little bummed about, but I’m not sure if EDM technology can prevent the little “pits” on the surface cut every once in a while. You can see in the pictures the pits, but also how invisibility of the joints is entirely dependent on lighting. Because you have to stiffly cycle the pieces a few times out of the box, it does create a very very small lip on some of the joints, so I do wish that the company would cycle the joints and then face/buff the tops so that the surface would be more blended. In all, I am satisfied with this cube and it is a tribute to how accurate we have come with machining. I’m giving this as a gift and I know that my BIL will love it. Also now, it does come in a padded presentation box. Just as others have mentioned, it is super sharp and heavy, so be very careful handling! Fidget, gaze, and enjoy!!!!

My sons and wife gave me this puzzle cube for my desk for Christmas 2024. It will be an interesting fidget item for me and is really well made. I expect it to loosen up as I oil it and use it. Tight tolerances and beautifully made. I love well machined materials and the EDM technique typically gives great results.

I love this cube! Each piece moves so smooth and fits together perfectly. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first cuz I’ve never tried one before, but I’m stoked that I purchased it! It has some weight to it as well and just feels cool to hold, haha. Highly recommended!

This shouldn’t even be possible. The joint is invisible when cube closed. Astonishing! Very pleased!

It is a very nice example of precision manufacturing. Not a puzzle for kids, but an exemplar for those who love fine mechanisms.
