We have tons of older VHS tapes and our player just stopped showing the picture, but the sound was on. I watched some videos online and figured the symptoms most closely matched "dirty heads" so I bought this since it had the most ratings. The ONLY reason I'm not giving it four stars is that it didn't clean the heads enough when I followed the instructions. A video mentioned running the cleaner tape using the "record" button so I did, and I did it a little longer than the instructions on the box said. Voila, working VCR again! I definitely recommend this product as a low cost way to trouble shoot picture issues with your VCR.

I have a VHS player built into an older model TV. It worked beautifully until I found a movie I had not seen for awhile. It was not in a box like my other movies. As soon as I put it in the player I realized the tape had dirt on it. The machine was jammed and I was unable to watch any movies. I purchased the VHS head cleaner and followed the directions. Unbelievable to me, after one 30 second cleaning the player works like new. I definitely recommend this product.

I had recently purchased a used VCR that had a greenish line on the top of the picture no matter the cassette. I read it could have been the head in the VCR was dirty so I purchased this VCR cleaner. Took a couple times of playing it but after a few times I played a tape I seen the discoloration on and it's completely gone!

It didn’t really clean my VHS head. The picture became worse actually. Maybe it’s an issue with my VHS. So that’s why I gave it 3 stars. I can’t really give it a high rating.

Tested this product in three different VHS players and it failed in every case. The tape stops playing after only 2–4 seconds, long before it can perform any meaningful head‑cleaning. Instead of running the cleaning sequence, all three players simply halt playback, leaving the heads untouched. It’s unreasonable for a device marketed to run long enough to clean the heads to stop almost immediately. Since it cannot operate for more than a few seconds, it’s effectively useless as designed.

I have several VCR's and they all are very old never cleaned them, but started to see not so clear pictures when I would play back recorded programs so did some research on line and found that the problem could be that the heads needed cleaning so I figured that what do I have to loose cause I was just going to disgard of the units beings I also have the new CD recorders and players. I ordered this Clean Dr. and cleaned all three of my VCR's and now they work like new I am getting alot better play back pictures. Yes I would recommend this product and also Amazon for having for the best price. :>)
