Wow in Stereo Wow
My son owns the black version of this same speaker and I was very impressed with the sound, so I bought a purple one for myself. When I was playing around with it and figuring out all the features, I tried out the feature where are you pair 2 speakers together - they call it TrueWireless in the manual. Once this has been done, the speakers are paired together all the time (until you unpair them) and then you pair your device with just one of them and they produce stereo (R+L) sound. They have really amazing stereo sound for the size. This prompted me to buy a second purple speaker so that I could have my own stereo sound all the time. And what a great value for all of the functionality they offer, including the ability to also daisy-chain them using a standard 3.5mm audio patch cable. Buy a pair today!

Seemed like a good device, but mine was defective with a really odd flaw.
I rather liked this, but the one I got had an electrical problem such that if you plugged something into the 3.5mm stereo aux-in, it stopped providing a charge through the USB external charge. No matter what, if anything, was on the other end of the 3.5mm male plug - just an adapter by itself would do it. I didn't think that was in itself a deal breaker, even though Braven support told me that was wrong, and I should return it. But then I discovered the speaker had a dead battery, with only a little play since a full charge, with nothing plugged into the USG external charging port, but something plugged into aux-in. Back it went. So if you expect to ever be using aux-in - I was using it with Chromecast Audio - be sure to check for this problem while it can still be returned. Mine may have been the only one with this problem, or it may have been a bunch of them. Worth checking, I think. I'd really like something like this that would power the Chromecast Audio, while the latter provided the music input. I may try another one of these, but I'd like a little more confidence.

Not replacing my stereo any time soon.
So as a speaker thing I'm giving it 3, the sound quality is at best average. I've used this with my computer and my phone with different audio file sources. I paid like $30 and for that I figure it's not a bad deal. It does function as a battery so you can charge your gear off of it. Comparing it to other models I've used that are double the price this is tinnie sounding and even in spoke word audio sounds hollow and flat. Playing this for a party is just a step up on loudness from the speakers of my MacBook Air but it's got about the same level of audio quality you'd expect from a compact computer. In short if you want a splash proof set of speakers that you can charge you phone off of and have no money this is a good choice. I will say I do love the purple color, the images were very accurate in displaying the color

This is how it arrives...
It does not come in a box. It does not come with instructions. It does not come with the rubber cap to cover the ports. It doesn't come with anything but the speaker. I got on a chat for help about this product and Aria told me that this is how it comes, and if I want instructions, look it up on youtube. It doesn't come with the rubber cap to make it water resistant.

Can be shy about pairing with valid bluetooth devices, press and hold the 'play' key to solve
This pairs well with my iPhone and works great! However, it is often 'shy' about pairing with other devices. After reading material on the Braven site I learned that by pressing and holding the "play" button I can force it to pair with a valid bluetooth device. Having done that once, that bluetooth device will now always recognize the Braven. I wish this information was in the box with the speaker.

Quality product, just like I expected
What I like is that it is not that heavy, speakers are on both sides of the unit, battery life is long enough for me (8 hours+) and I can listen to my audiobooks in the shower with water hitting it and not having to worry. It also connects to bluetooth easily and the sound quality is still crisp when using the AUX.I bought it for my daughter (2) and I've taken it over. lol.

great value for maximum sound
LOVE this speaker!!!! I frequently use background tracks for work (as a voice coach), and this speaker has by far given me the best volume at a lower price than comparable products. Fun colors too! Just make sure you keep an eye on the charging lights on the back!!

Stereo sound, but not stereo, just two speakers with the same sound. Good sound!
I spent a lot of money on two of these speakers so I could have stereo sound as stated in the seller's blurb. I think there is not an actual Stereo sound, but there is a distributed sound appearing from two speakers. Still, the Bravens sound good and distribute sound over a wider area, higher volume.Speakers are a little tricky to sync for 'stereo', but the sync works. Here's how I do it.Turn off bluetooth on all devices in the area of the speakers, tablet, phone and your friend's phone (otherwise, it won't work to synch). At one speaker end, turn on each speaker. A loud On sound will blast! On each speaker, now remove the waterfroofing barrier from the other end, revealing the Battery Test Button (BTB). Press each BTB once quickly and let go. The speakers will give a little beep. Then hold both speaker BTBs at the same time until they give a wierd sound and the battery test lights start a rolling on-off sequence. Let go of the button and wait for up to a minute. When a small tone squeeks, and the lights stop flashing, proceed. Now on the device you want to connect via bluetooth, turn on bluetooth, search for new device, until Braven appears. Click on that to synch.Only one speaker connects to your device. The speakers do the distribution of sound. At this point, you can turn on any other bluetooth you want and not interfere. Each time you want to sync with the Braven, you'll need to repeat the entire instruction again.

It has good sound range for the size and price, issues one year in.
This speaker worked well for me for almost a year. It has good sound range for the size and price. Howwver it does have poor Bluetooth range and sometimes the sound will be broken up a bit even in close range. However just before the one year warrenty was up the charging port broke and fell into the device making it unable to charge. The company was great about covering replacing it through warrenty, I just had to pay to for the shipping to get it there which from my location ended up costing around $20. However I now have a second speaker and it is working well with no problems to date.
