Peak Electronic Design ESR70 Atlas Plus and Capacitance Meter

This a great little device and would normally have received 5 stars but the fact it keeps switchng itself off to conserve power gets rather annoying after a while but I suppose if I was a little quicker at locating the next capacitor pins on the board and getting the probes in place I might not have this problem!It's also quite expensive for all it is but the accuracy it provides is well worth the price. I tested over a dozen capacitors on a board and after removing them the readings were virtually identical.

I cannot fault this item, (a) it's made in England. (b) it comes with a comprehensive manual that is written in English and not some form of "Chinese English". (c) A 2 year warranty (c) Obviously, no a "box shifter.

What's to say - its a leading brand making high end test equipment. This is used for testing ESR in old caps for radios. It works every time. i don't need to think about it, it always just works. Its a wee bit pricy - but well worth it. I would have liked a case to put it in - one that i didn't need to buy separately. Other high end equipment comes with a case.
