Dinosaur: A Photicular Book Hardcover – September 4, 2018

This book is dope. The photos move like magic! My husband and I came across this book in a store while on vacation, but they wanted to charge a ton for it. We knew we could find it cheaper on Amazon and sure enough we did. Now we enjoy it with our baby son. He doesn't care much about books yet, but he still thinks it's pretty cool.

The media could not be loaded. The video I posted pretty much says it all. The illusion of movement comes from the shifting of pixels as the page turns. You can control the direction of the “film” and speed by turning the page slower or faster and up and down, almost like a flip-book. This series opens from the side of the book, so it is very atypical, but there are a lot of good facts about the animals in it. This is a good educational gift, especially for those without internet access.

These books are just perfect for curious toddlers or anyone with an appreciation for dinosaurs! They are packed with great information but the pictures are more like short video clips with the way the images are made to move. My little buddy truly enjoys all the books in the series!

I'm not positive how it works, but it's definitely cute. Unfortunately, it is *so* thick because of the technology, that I'm not sure I would buy it again. My 4 year old, who loves dinosaurs, looked at it once, and then not again. It's cute, and perhaps good for a gift, but didn't really hold interest for us.

My nephews love every book from the series. It’s a fantastic gift idea!
