Ubuntu Linux 18.04 DVD - OFFICIAL 64-bit release - Long Term Support

My older computer couldn't handle Windows updates, they would always fail. I used this disc to easily replace Windows with Ubuntu and I can do anything I want to do on my computer without all the updates that didn't work. I use Chrome browser a lot and I installed it to use along with the Firebox browser it came with. You can boot your computer to work with the program before you install it to be sure it's what you want. Instillation was so easy! You can install Ubuntu and keep Windows if you want, then chose which one you want to use when you boot up.

I couldn't get to boot up no matter how I tried. With system running or from start up.I'm not new at this at all and was pretty disappointed. I have windows 7 32/64 and there should have been no issues. I'll have to go on line to save a few bucks. I always like to have a Origional back up disk on hand but, not this time.

This disc wouldn't boot for me. In fairness it could just be my particular machine. But, I have an old v13 Ubuntu that booted fine. I then incrementally updated the OS off the web.

I wanted to install this operating system alongside of my Windows 10, but never could get that option. I did a lot of research and tried many things to no avail. I went ahead and did a full install over windows. With the use of the book that I also purchased, I am starting to understand it more. I'm excited to continue learning the command lines.

...so when I replaced the hard drive, I didn't want to spend the money for Windoz. Ubuntu to the rescue! Works great! And lets face it, the one and only thing that Windows has over Linux is games. And I've started to discover the wide world of Linux games! Plenty out there and some good stuff!

After fussing with the bios (Toshiba is f2 to get into the menu, not esc or f8, silly me) it booted from the disc, no problems. There was a screen that provided the option to test-drive or do the install, but it was over and off to the races into test-drive before I could interfere with the goodness a little patience would pay out. I was already sold on a linux distro (2 reasons: I've run Xubuntu on a 'ahem' "legacy" machine and I loathe windows 10) now I can get my wife to co-sign this. My only complaint is that it took so long to arrive. I know it's trendy to bag on the usps, but this wasn't their fault, I know how long it takes to send something to/from Arizona. Otherwise, a good purchase. I'd say I'd buy it again, but why? It's free. It sounds idiotic to buy something that's free, can't put a price on time otherwise Id buy a lot of it. This saved me a bunch of said time.

This system was very easy to load on my computer. If you have the BIOS configured to boot from the dvd drive it gives you a choice of loading a temporary or a permanent version. I chose the latter and it did the whole thing without a hitch.

It does what it is supposed to do without any hitches. I installed it on an old MacBook and it works fine. This is for a 64 bit machine. If you have a real old 32 bit computer it may not work.
