Is this a deep conditioner or a leave in?

It's a deep conditioner. Every now and then I'll leave it in for 30 minutes or more when my hair feels dryer then normal. It makes my curls bounce right back up when I do that.

Does this product have a strong fragrance? What does it smell like?

I have used this conditioner for YEARS! I always get complements on how GOOD my hair smells! I love the feel of my hair and not a strong fragrance just right! Love Biolage

Is this a cleansing conditioner that I can use without shampooing first?

I don’t know about the cleansing part but I do use this conditioning balm on my hair between shampoos to calm my crazy dry curly hair and it does an awesome job….just wet hair in shower, put balm on and rub in, let it stay in hair as complete shower, and rinse out….perfect!
