Excellent Great soulful

this cd starts off with the aptly titled bitter sweet song Beautiful Night and just carries you along with so much energy. Beverley Knight may not shift as many cds as some other British female singers, but at least she actually sings and writes and doesnt resort to fakery like some others. The quality of her output is streets ahead of any British female act at the moment.buy it, love it, tell everyone about it.

I do so love me some Beverly Knight! She should be a bigger star here as her voice is strong and tuneful. This was one of her last cds of pop and soul stuff before she began her trip down old school Memphis soul and blues town. Doesn't diminish it. If you like good singers and upbeat tunes she's giving it all to you here.

Beverley Knight is easily the Queen of British Soul, consistently delivering amazing album after amazing album and this album is definitely no different. With a great tracklist, Beverley delivers each song with such ease and minimum effort, it leaves you amazed at how underrated this artist actually is within music, despite being in the industry for over fifteen years.The first single, 'Beautiful Night', starts off the album well and then slams straight into what I think is one of the best songs on the album, 'Breakout'. Of course all of the songs bring something very different to this project and Beverley even has the legendary Chaka Khan (providing vocals on the song 'Soul Survivor') on this album, which is a definite plus. The cover version of a classic Bee Gee's song, 'Too Much Heaven', brings something different to the album also. The bonus song, 'Force Of Nature', available for download through Play is definitely one of the best songs from this project.Only Beverley Knight could deliver an album this good and although I still prefer her previous album, 'Music City Soul', this album is definitely worth every penny.Beverley Knight is a talent that deserves so much more love within music.

I am seeing Beverley in concert in April at the Royal Albert Hall and I'm looking forward to hearing her sing the songs from this album.Her voice is as strong as ever, she is fantastic at getting across the emotion of the song and I have played this over and over again.Another hit album from a fabulous soul singer who really puts the 'soul' into her performance.

生きる力がみなぎった、ソウルフルで前向きでポップな傑作アルバム。初期のポップな作品が好きな人も、前2作のソウルフルな作品が好きな人も、どちらも大好きになれる作品だと思います。今作は曲も歌も、何かふっきれたような明るさに満ちています。曲はしっかりと地に足のついたソウルやR&Bでありながら、ものすごくポップ。でなおかつ、ものすごくソウルフル。原点を見つめて真摯に真剣に曲を作ったら、結果として天性のポップ・センスがあふれ出した、といったような、狙わず作らずの、非常にナチュラルでポップなソウル・ミュージックで、そういう意味で、本当に本当にいい曲ばかりです。音は、最近はやり(?)の「リラックスした」オーガニック・サウンドではなくて、もうとにかく「力一杯作った」オーガニック・サウンドといった感じ。曲も渾身の力を込めて作ったというエネルギーに満ちあふれています。まさに「100%」の作品。なによりも、とにかく自然に伸び伸びと歌っているのが素晴らしい。聴いているこちらも何か吹っ切れるような、ナチュラルでパワフルな、元気の出るアルバムです。個人的には無人島に持っていくアルバムの候補入りです。
