Don't believe the "etc" in list of protocols.
Had high hopes for this. Within the ad where it lists types of video feeds and protocols this unit uses, the list ends twice in "etc." My hopes with this was that it uses uPnP/DLNA. What my plan was, was to connect this device to 2 NVR's, a PC that runs iSpy, and another PC with miscellaneous video. Then, any tv in the house be able to see the uPnP/DLNA video streams to see my security cameras. Well, no such luck. I sent an email to the seller explaining my intentions asking how to set this device up for DLNA so that video streams could be seen on Smart TV's. I received a reply back within 24 hours explaining I could run VLC on my Smart TV's to view the streams from this unit. Loading an app and entering video streams each time I want to view cameras isn't my idea of a dream come true. My objective was to be able to look at/retrieve camera video streams quickly (say if I heard a noise outside). I have android tv boxes as well that has camera software installed on them to view my cameras. It's not that it's all that time consuming, but not what I'm looking for. I wanted the ability to view camera video streams quickly and within a few clicks (like what's possible with DLNA and a Smart TV). If you're doing anything with video other than H.264, H.265, or MP4's... this unit isn't going to work for you. The manual that comes with this unit, leaves a lot to be desired. Half of it explains networking and how to change the units preset IP address. The other half explains how to upload feeds to Facebook and YouTube. That's it. There are a hundred different settings with this unit none of which are explained in the manual. In my opinion, way too much info on setting the IP which is pretty basic in comparison to all the settings for video this unit has. If you're using H.264, H.265, or MP4's and have lots of knowledge on video protocols and miscellaneous settings, this will probably work for you. If you're not knowledgeable or have limited video knowledge, or want any output other than H.264, H.265, or MP4, this unit isn't for you. I could install DLNA software on a PC, have it retrieve an RTSP feed from this unit, and then convert it into a DLNA stream... but that's more than what I'm wanting to do. From the cameras, to the NVR, to this unit, to a PC, and then to a TV... too much delay between what the camera has captured until it is seen on a tv.

Worth the risk!
PRO:This is hands down AMAZING. I was able to stream 4 set top boxes over the network!Requires low amounts of power to do the work of a whole analog cable head-end systemRuns cooler than i anticipatedOffers a ton of tweaking via web interface. (FYI default IP is 192.168.1.168 )I was able to integrate it with EMBY and lkely will integrate with other media centers via IPTV method.Extremely responsive customer service over WhatsApp / Email with very understandable English.CON:The instructions documentation came on a re-sealed flash drive. As an American, i'm extremely hesitant to plug the usd drive into a computer of any worth due to the extremely high risk of compromise. The power plug was euro two prong and lasted 10 minutes before cooking. a 12v 2amp plug with my native outlet plug was able to power it successfully!

Simply Works
I had to figure out how to set my camera to output 3160@30p on its HDMI port in order for the encoder to recognize the signal from the camera, but otherwise the setup was pretty straight forward. I did not need to call or email tech support because I have an IT background so the manual had adequate information for me, but I would imagine a non technical person needing more help to configure this device.

Surprisingly good picture quality, hope it lasts a long time
I'm using this to stream a 4K feed from a Nikon mirrorless camera to YouTube. I picked this encoder because it lets you encode at the maximum YouTube accepts, 32Mbps. The picture looks amazing on my 4K tv. In January I had about 1.9 million YouTube views and 618,000 unique visitors, in large part due to this encoder. I hope they release an 8K version eventually.

Decent unit, easy to use but lacks some features
For the price this unit is decent and works well. The only downside I found is it does not allow security on the stream push
