but horrible on AM stations
I wanted to try this to get rid of the RC car look on the trans am and hide this up in the headliner. It picks up FM stations ok for the most part, but horrible on AM stations. Will be going back to the standard retractable antenna (although I have to order a new one since the original broke).

Does the job
I removed my factory antenna to go with the shaved look so this was perfect for me. I live in a rural area so picking up stations is already difficult and this does about the same job as factory if not a hair better. Placement of the hidden antenna is everything and it takes some playing with to get right.

Tune Trapper Hidden Car AM FM Stereo Radio Antenna With End Cable
FM station reception works okay. Only 3 AM station could be received but the antenna needs to be under a window. If the antenna is away from windows there is only FM reception.After a year of daily use, something is loose so AM reception is intermittent. I broke it open to find an area where the center conductor shorted to the external shield because the tape covering the conductor came off.

Problem solved
I needed a hidden antenna for my 55 F100 resto. I didn't want it to show. This one was pricey but is made in the USA and works great. I mounted it under the dash and it gets good reception inside my shop, which is a metal building. very happy with it and will recommend it to my friends.

Works great for our pontoon boat
The Tune Trapper did exactly what i wanted it to do - it captures more radio station reception than our normal boat antenna did, and it's small enough that I could hid it beneath the console.Exactly what I wanted, at a fair enough price.

as good as a metal antenna
I did not expect much from this antenna, I got it simply because it was the only option in my application. I installed it in the body of my '23 T street rod behind the seat about 20' from vertical. In a metro area with lots of stations, it has no problem picking up whatever I want with little interference. Despite the low mount, unshielded hot rod ignition, and everything working against it, it performs quite well. It also seems sensitive enough to pick up distant stations when traveling.

Better than a powered antenna
My pontiac vibe's powerd antenna went out, replaced it with an expensive powered unit, still had terrible reception. Used this, get much clearer reception. It is sensitive to where you place it, so play around a little.
