Great product and great value
Just got delivered and I immediately unpacked it and brewed my first pot of coffee. Nice 12 cup capacity, temperature was right to my liking, very easy setup, filling instructions produced a delicious pot of coffee. Very pleased I also found the grinder works very well, easy to clean and very quiet operation in comparison to two other machines I have had. Very pleased and in my opinion, a great product and value.

Flawless and delicious!!!
We have owned two of these and have enjoyed having delicious coffee from freshly-ground, excellent beans (Lavazza Top Choice, sometimes espresso version but usually filtro), programmed the night before. Heavenly coffee to wake up to. Both of our Black & Decker Mill & Brew coffee makers have performed flawlessly. To the reviewer who can't get her filter out: use the swing-up handle on it, and it comes right out. We had the 1st over six years, and I bought a second simply bc I didn't know how to properly clean the fine-meshed filter and it accumulated some hard debris. I scraped it out with a sharp knife! The new one, which I've easily kept clean for almost 3 years now, I just spray out with the kitchen spray hose, first inside, then from the outside along each section (sides and bottom). Takes only a minute. I also run it through the dishwasher every month or two and that's all it takes. I also give a quick rinse to the funnel that holds the filter. Easy to use, SUPERB coffee that stays hot and somehow doesn't get bitter nearly as quickly as with other coffee makers and coffee brands. Great features: select how long to grind, how strong to make, when to start brewing (immediately, or program), etc. Love it and will likely buy another just to stash in the basement to have when this one eventually goes. As grinders go, it isn't very loud, though if our bedroom door is open, we do hear it go off in the morning...this has become a very happy sound association. After over eight years, we still get excited about getting up for a cup of Lavazza Top Class, freshly ground and brewed in an EXCELLENT coffee maker. Lower maintenance than the pricey super-automatics, way more affordable, easy cleaning, and--best of all--amazing coffee. Highly recommend.

Still the best-kept secret drip maker out there, but….
This might be my 5th or 6th one of these; I’ve owned them since before Black and Decker purchased the original maker (Breville?). Yes, it’s a blade grinder vs burr for us coffee snobs. However, waking up to freshly-ground hot coffee is still a joy in this life. Plus when I do get snobby or it’s a special coffee I use my separate burr-grinder and put the grinds in the basket that way, and obviously it works just fine with pre-ground coffee. Why have I been through so many? Well, first of all we’re talking about over a period of maybe 20 years. At least 1 replacement was a broken carafe and it was easier and almost cheaper at the time to just buy a new machine. Another time I thought my blades were getting dull, but on my new machine they weren’t much sharper (they’re really not sharp at all). And while I’m pretty good about cleaning my machine regularly using either vinegar or commercial products, sometimes it just doesn’t work as well as it used to and it’s time for a new one. Really easy to clean overall, and I like a LOT of variation in my coffee (generally have around a half-dozen in vacuum cans at any given time), so that’s why I prefer this style over models that take like a full pound for the storage bin. If you only use one type of whole bean then maybe that is a better product for you but of course this one would still work and is MUCH cheaper than those styles. THE 1-STAR DING PROBLEM: After all these (5-star) models that have gone through my hands, I re-upped with another new system last month (the old one was about 7 years old and no amount of cleaning was bettering the drip). I noticed in the reviews some people were mentioning a clicking noise from the hot plate; something I had never experienced in the past. And OMG—sure enough, on my 1st brew with the new machine the hot plate cycled on and the amount of clicks and pops were like popcorn being made, lasting about 15 seconds every minute or so and loud! It was SO annoying! Really sounded like the glass carafe was cracking every time. After a week it only seemed to actually worsen, so I exchanged it. Next one……exact same thing. Exchanged it again….and this one still pops and crackles a little bit but MUCH more quietly and not nearly as numerous (like, maybe 2 or 3 light pops when the plate cycles). So, something changed in their internal works and I guess it’s hit or miss at the moment. All that said and on the plus side, the hot plate with these 3 new models is definitely hotter than any of the ones I’ve owned in the past. I never got into the thermal carafe thing and also usually would microwave my mug for about 45 seconds to warm it up further—I don’t really need to do that anymore because it’s definitely keeping the coffee hotter. I hope the clicks and pops might settle down over time as the metal, glass and plastic “wear in”; and if it does I’ll upgrade the review. TLDR—amazing coffeemaker, particularly for the cost but some new manufacturing has made it noisy. Screw ‘em! Keep exchanging it until you get a quieter one, give B&D your feedback, and hopefully they’ll fix the issue. Enjoy!!

Brews Good Coffee and Grinds your Beans.
I like this coffee maker, and even though it'll say you cannot grind the beans without it automatically making the coffee, that's only half true. You can grind up your beans press the stop button and throw those grinds into a French press if you want to. Why would you do that? Because sometimes you want a half calf and sometimes you want decaf and sometimes you want full calf, and sometimes you don't know which one that is the night before until you wake up. So if you know exactly what you want every day I would suggest taking the tablespoons that it requires the little one that they give you with the coffee maker, measure it with a measuring cup draw a line on that measuring cup and then use that instead of taking five or 10 scoops out every evening or every morning or whenever you set up your coffee. You can thank me later.

Honest review of coffee pot in action
I’ve been using this BLACK+DECKER grind and brew coffee maker to make fresh coffee at home, and I love that it grinds whole beans and brews in one step. It also works with pre-ground coffee, which is nice if you want options. It’s simple to use, makes a full pot, and has been reliable for everyday mornings. A great option if you want fresh coffee without needing a separate grinder.

Horrible Coffee Pot in Every Way!
This coffee pot doesn't deserve a 1 star. It is horrible in every way. To begin, it takes about 25 minutes to make a 4 cup pot of coffee. You have to set the coffee maker on 6 cups to make a 4 cup pot. When you remove the carafe from the machine after it is finished brewing, the machine will drip, making a horrible mess on the heating element. The first cup is pretty good, but when you go to pour that second cup, it will look like sludge because there are so many coffee grounds in the carafe. Another horrible thing about this coffee pot is that the steam coming out from the top is absolutely insane. If you have wooden cupboards and the coffee pot is sitting below, over time your wood will be ruined from the film of steam and water that settles on them. The cleanup isn't the greatest. you have to empty the coffee grounds in your trash can then rinse the remaining grounds down the sink. Not a good thing. I called Black and Decker customer service, and it was a joke. I called on 5 occasions. First call they requested that I send them 5 different photos, which I did. No response for 3 days. I called them back and they told me I had to provide a pic of the bottom of the coffee maker w/the model number. I did that with no response. Called them back and then they told me I had to provide a pic with the cord cut in to two pieces! Insane! I asked them why the heck wasn't anyone responding to the pics I had already emailed, and why the heck they didn't tell me about these other pictures I needed to send in. No explanation. They gave me a website to check the status of my claim. I logged in and couldn't find anything under my name or claim number. I will never buy a Black and Decker product again. Their products and customer service are horrible!

Super awesome pot with built in grinder
It’s super nice because it has a grinder built in. Just pour in the correct amount of whole beans and fill the water reservoir, set the cups to how many you want and set up the automatic start and it perfectly grinds and brews your pot of coffee. Plus it looks really nice with its black and stainless outside so it blends right into any kitchen. Makes a full pot of coffee and fits on your counter.

Can't believe I bought Cuisinart for so many years!!
So many great things to say about this after months of use. To start the simplicity of this brewer makes brewing good coffee effortless. You (not the coffee maker) control how many beans to use combined with the grind control facilitated us dialing in our dark intense style of coffee in just a few days' worth of brewing. It is simple to clean on a daily basis by just pulling the filter and rinsing out the spent grounds and you're ready to brew again. Twice a week we remove the top grinder seal by pressing the tabs together and rinsing. Monthly (we have great tap water in Eastern WA) do a cleaning brew with vinegar. From here the review is why not to buy other brands the Cuisinart's are time consuming to clean daily and the lack of grind control and amount of beans used creates a very inconsistent cup of coffee. This is true for most other brands we have had (or others have had ) with grind and brew. I am also a very early riser and the grinder on the black and decker is quite enough that it does not wake up the whole house when making coffee. No more wrapping the coffee maker in a blanket and topping it with a pillow to try and insulate the sound. The Cuisinart grind and brew with the thermo carafe is neat but the coffee cools off quickly and the spout leaks all over when trying to pour the last cup (we have had three of these and they all do it) and the less expensive single grind Cuisinart and the Krupps require partial disassembly to be ready for a new batch of coffee and perform poorly with a damp grinder because they drop the grounds into the brewer. To top off all my other complaints they cost is over double the price for all of the competitors grind and brew units we have tried. With Amazon's great return policies why not save yourself some time, money and frustration and give this one a shot.
