Great Value Hex Bar
So glad I purchased this for deadlifting. This bar is weighted properly and a great value for the money.

GREAT GREAT BAR!
The media could not be loaded. I am loving my new open hex bar!! DO NOT listen to any of the negative reviews for this particular bar - I’m certainly glad I didn’t! This bar is awesome. Let me repeat- THIS BAR IS AWESOME! I get the impression that the black bars are in better condition than the silver ones.Let me start by saying that, no its not the top of the line as far as bars in general go, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it considering it’s price-point of under $200. I’m in the process of furnishing my home gym and have been doing a ton of research. I’ve bought equipment from many different companies lately. I recently saw a YouTube video with Simeon Panda and Ulisses World where they talked about the many benefits this type of bar. I immediately started searching for it.First off, not many companies make them and those that do have them priced at as high as $700 and as low as $400, so this was a steal! No, this bar doesn’t compare to the craftsmanship and materials of those more expensive bars but it does the same exact job. It says it will hold 1000 lbs, however, I look great, am in top shape and see no reason whatsoever to lift that much weight...ever! So, issues around the bar bending with insane amounts of weight on it is of no concern to me. I will never put upwards of 7 plates on each side. If this is you, my advice would be to spend the $700 on the top of the line bar, but for the average to the above average lifter this bar is all you need.Contrary to other bad reviews for this bar, it had no bends, scratches or rust! The bar was shiny black. See my pictures and video for proof. It also arrived in three days! The wrapping was maintained as best as possible given the size and shape of the bar. I’m sure the paint will at some point chip, but that’s expected with regular use. The knurling was perfect. Not rough at all. Zero sharp nicks in it that could potentially cut you.I can see me having this bar for years to come (possibly the rest of my life). The bar is like night and day from what I read from some buyers here. This is your sign to BUY IT!!Update: check the Bars of Steel website. They have one the same price that stands up for easy loading, but with shorter sleeves if less weight and the convenience of it standing up appeals to you. It also weighs less at 47 lbs and the sleeves rotate. Had I seen it first I probably would gave purchased it instead.

Very pleased with my purchase
I'm 66 years old, and I've been lifting for over 50 years, and I hope to keep it up until they plant me. Deadlifts have been getting uncomfortable over the last few years, so I thought I'd try a trap bar, with the added benefit of it being a lot shorter than an Olympic bar, making it easier to use and store in a home gym.I've just finished my first workout the HulkFit trap bar, and it felt great. I bought the regular chrome model. I didn't use a whole lot of weight, because at my age you have to ease into any new exercise, but it's obvious that the bar is very sturdy, and will hold more weight than I'll ever use. The grips are knurled just right, so they help you grip it with sweaty hands without making you feel like you grabbed a cactus. Best of all, they are nearly a foot long, so you can move your grip forward or backward and move the center of gravity to just where you want it.Pros:- Fast (free) shipping. I ordered it the evening of October 1, they said it would get here October 4, which I doubted because of its weight. It actually arrived the morning of October 3. A day and a half, and I live in a very small town on the northern coast of Washington.- Very well packaged. Every inch of it was covered with sturdy cardboard. Then a blanket (seriously) around that. Then several layers of plastic wrap around that. Took me 15 minutes to cut all of that off of it.- Good size and weight. I'm 6'-2, 250 pounds, and over the years I've bought stuff where they must have used a munchkin in the picture to make the product look bigger. I was a little worried that my ass or knees would hit the bar going up or down. But it's perfect for me, plenty of room inside, and the handles are right where I want them. In case you don't know, it has two sets of handles. If you're using small plates and you don't want to bend too far over, you can use the upper handles, which are about six inches above the weight holders. If you're using large plates, you can flip the whole thing upside down and use the lower handles, which are flush with the weight holders. Note that the handles themselves don't move or adjust, everything is solidly welded on this bar. I guess if you're young and want to go super low, you can stand on a board.Cons: Really none so far. There were a couple of nicks, but it's a deadlift bar, not a mirror, so who cares? For the price, especially including free shipping, I think it's a great value. About half a month's cable bill for a piece of equipment that will last a lifetime.

Great solid bar on a budget.
I'm happy with the bar, and even happier with the Amazon delivery driver who brought it right to my door step, considering the product weight.A few friends recommended a hex bar since I've had issues with my lower back - I slip up no matter how much I focus on form It's taken a couple workouts to get used to the bar but I find the motion a lot more natural. The bar was packaged smartly, wrapped in closely fit cardboard pieces, with a recycled cotton fiber cloth padding around that, and finally plastic wrap around that. It worked and was less waste than a full box strong enough to hold the weight would have been, and easier to move.Bar weighs 50lbs exactly, according to my cheap digital scale, and is quite solidly made. I guess I expected it to seem flimsy at this price even though it was described as solid, not hollow, but it's a very rigid and strong chunk of metal.Based on other comments I inspected each weld and all are solid and robust, but I agree, some are not pretty. I have no concern about weld strength.I chose the bare or nickel bar, not black. I don't see any rust whatsoever, and none of the awful flaky chrome plating on some of my cheap equipment. The knurling is pronounced but not to the point I have to wear gloves, and I don't have tough hands.I chose this bar in large part because it's the cheapest one that had reasonable room for plates. My expectations were not particularly high, but I've been pleasantly surprised. It's not a fancy product, but it's 100% functional and a great buy for someone on a budget.
