Yes, I also recommend washing your face with a gentle cleanser before using the rice powder. This will prevent clogging your pores with any foundation makeup or blush

Q: What I’d difference between calming and general versions of rise wash?

I like the gentle and calming version. I have red blotches on my cheeks and both of these rice washes seem to soothe. I'm 68 and have really nice skin, Tatcha is the reason. Hope that helps you decide.
