The safe was more bulky than what it appeared online, and the top did not seem to close real tight, which led me to believe that it would be easy to pry open. The safe does look really nice and I’m sure it is very durable but I didn’t feel comfortable with it and I went with something else.

It’s so heavy, I wish it had a handle or something to carry it with because it is not convenient to lug around, but overall it’s good

I was going to give this product 1 star because it was very hard to open but I watched some YouTube videos about the product and discovered that once you put in the code you have to push down on the top and pull the lever at the same time . Now it very easy to open and I would defenatly recommend it to anyone that looking to keep there personal belongings safe without investing in a large bulky safe.

TLDR; AVOID THIS SAFE unless you are in need of a fancy 25-lb brick. It is nearly impossible to get open. I would enter the correct code, see a green light, and hear the latch on the lock moving. I tried countless times to open it. No go. And you have only 10 sec to start opening it or the safe locks again. Not much time for fiddling with it. Called SentrySafe. One of the first things asked was what battery was I using and what is the expiration date. Duracell, 9V, new from package, expires Dec 2019. The rep walked me through the procedure while I was on the phone. We got it open once (after about 4-5 failed attempts.). Being the skeptic, I closed the case while the rep was still on the phone, and tried to open it again. Nope. The watertight seal inside the safe may be to blame for the difficulty. This might have been alleviated if the designer had included a handles to provide for a better grip. What to do now? The rep told me to try a new battery. Seriously? 19 months away from expiration is too old? Plus, I can hear the lock unlatching! The only good point of the story is that I can return it and Amazon quickly agreed to pay for UPS to pick this up at my house.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I was looking to buy a SentrySafe for a long time now. I needed something to store some documents, but I'm not sure the safe is actually safe. The design is great, it might fit into nice small compartments inside your place. However when trying to close the unit it does not have a secure method, just a simple metal hook that grabs on to tiny mechanism. The issue with the safe, is he can probably find YouTube videos that can open the save for the simple l-shaped tool. Who knows maybe even a paper clip can open it. What's infuriating is that when closed there is a huge gap between the unit. Now I try not to score low versus high or one star versus five star. But maybe the necessity of purchasing such a unit. Maybe you don't need high security, but you'd like the design for some simple documents. I would say the design is wonderful, but is not a metal lock box. It seems to be some kind of thick plastic. Or a molded plaster. I'm not sure. It does not come with a 9 volt battery, so be sure to buy one along with this unit, if you choose to purchase. The space is sufficient for at least a letter size document, maybe even a legal size document. It did not include the two straps that were advertised on the page. I tried to call the company, however the number provided in the unit does not show anything of significance. Good safe. Haven’t had to put it through any flood or fire test yet but it seems sturdy enough. Only questionable issue is that to get the combination lock to fully accept a code I was told to purchase a new battery cuz the one I tried to use, though, it had some “life” just didn’t have enough juice to work so buy a new battery once you attempt to program the combination into it.

Anyone can open it with a very slight press down on the safe itself then press the button and surprise your password is useless! Very disappointed with this product and I’ll never buy from this brand again

I thought for the low cost of this, it would be flimsy - but it's not. It's quite excellent quality and very sturdy.

Took a try or two to understand how the latch mechanism works, but in no way a problem. Great size, enough for a good stack of some regular-sized paper and a bunch of other stuff.

Mise en garde, prenez le temps de bien lire la section “ouverture du coffre”. Il faut appliquer une pression sur le haut afin d’ouvrir le coffre. Il ne faut pas juste se limiter à entrer la combinaison et tenter de l’ouvrir. Beaucoup de gens ne prennent pas le temps de lire le manuel et retourne le coffre avec la mention défectueux. Très bon coffre à combinaisons électroniques. Aucune poignée de transport. Idéalement, un coffre que vous ne voulez pas transporter.
